You are exactly right Scott.

Dubya holds the world record for largest ever deficit & aims to make it even bigger. Some one should pull him aside & tell him that having a deficit is a bad thing.....

Cheers,
Paul.

9/11 didn't happen overnight. It was in the planning stage long before Bush was president. Our great country declined morally while Clinton was pres. You folks just don't get it.

Let's play nice.

I disagree with you. I don't feel that the country somehow declined morally during the 1990s, and if it did, it certainly wasn't the result of the Clinton presidency. Of course, we may have different definitions of morals, but I consider Clinton to be one of the most moral of people to ever hold the office. It is unfortunate that his sexual escapade at the end of his term is to tarnish so much his legacy.

Please feel free to be positive about your candidate or party, but don't be negative about the other one. Blocks for negative campaigning will be through the election.

And of course please don't post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down. Blocks for incivility will be like usual.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:

Follow-ups regarding these issues should be redirected to Psycho-Babble Administration. They, as well as replies to the above posts, should of course themselves be civil.

Of course Kerry had reservations about waging a preemptive war. It was to be a terrible precedent that of course would trouble and insult the rest of the world.

In 1941, the US was developing the first atomic bomb. All Japan did was to launch a justified preemptive strike. Right?

Kerry isn't afraid to make adjustments in his policy to reflect the changes in circumstances, including the information available to work with.

Caution: do not enter if you are offended by the unbowdlerised word "*ss", even when it means "donkey".

Disclaimer: I haven't seen every page and therefore cannot promise that you will not encounter material you may find offensive if you explore beyond the home page, nor do I know enough about US politics to recognise everything which supporters of a certain party might consider pejorative. In particular, please avoid the "Mailbag" page; it includes material which might offend Republicans if it's seen as a parody of Republican francophobia, and might offend our French friends if it isn't; oh, and there are some uncensored words which Merriam-Webster considers vulgar.

Claimer: OTOH, I found it this site very funny; and it isn't in the same league for potential offensiveness as the site linked by http://www.dr-bob.org/babble/admin/20041012/msgs/407438.html , which was (rightly, IMO) allowed.

Eddie Izzard comedian cake or death

He has a piece of stand up comedy that asks:
"Would you like cake or death....."
everyone answers with cake....
except one who tries to change his choice back to cake
then they run out of cake...

So my comment about war or sex was a direct steal from this comedy routine...
I thought it was silly...I guess not.

Sorry for getting a bit pompous there!

Things aren’t exactly fine here.

I’m not sure if I will even vote next UK election. I usually do, as the right to vote is a key element of a democracy. But actually it only makes a difference in a constituency where it will be a close decision. And now the 2 major parties aren’t a lot different.

The rush of hope when Labour was elected in 1997 was sadly misplaced, with their policies ending up more right-wing. And most of us don’t trust in Tony Blair following his lap-tog behaviour with Bush, and going to war despite the vast majority of us not wanting it. Then the main opposition party are disorganised and unpromising...

Good luck in the US, whichever you go for (or Ralph Nader!)
