Nothing special about that, of course. It probably makes most of us anxious.

I don't want to get into the political stuff here. I don't know what I think about it, but I do know how I feel about it.

I feel anxious and worried and I know I need to limit my exposure to the news, but I've not done very well thus far in following my own rules about that.

The only commentary I care to offer here is about the broadcast news coverage, really. As I watched the video feed from Baghdad last night, and listened to the constant chatter of the commentators commenting continuously without having any new information come out of their mouths, like so much play by play, this thought occurred to me:

"They cover sports as though it were war, and war as though it were sports."

A bit anxious but mostly sad.

A huge sense of melancholy.

Lots of the televisions now you can program out channels. Good for those that can't turn it off. What I find helps is to avoid television and read the newspaper instead. I find myself actually relaxing when I do it: comics, ann landers, and reading about the strange everday stuff that people do. A couple from Canada were driving home from their vacation in Florida with their elderly mother and she passed away. At the border they asked if they had anything to declare. The husband blurts out that he has a body in the car.

And keeping things in prespective helps too! This war has been going since before my eldest was born. There have been numerous wars in our lifetimes, approximately one every ten years.

It's ok tabitha. I am often "involved" with women on various sitcoms. At least yours a real. Wow a Morman, think about all that built up sexual tension, as I sit here and think of my own as well. I bet they would really provide some fun. I think sex is exersize, but I don't really remember it's been so long. (()) ~tony

Oh, like the "Golden Shower"? I want to know: have you ever partaken of this heinous, perverse practice? hmm?? :-]

Anbody out there in "Psycopathia Sexualis" Babble (Ah-hah! That's MY suggestion for a new board on PB) want to confess to it? Or at least explain to me what the perversion entails? (I have my reasons.)

So 400 pts. to the lady with the beard...

To remind everybody how the lyrics go, they are given below. I see in my mind's eye, the psychobabble denizens doing the parts marked "ALL" in the following. Heh heh... (just kidding) ----

_______________

Gee, Officer Krupke!

An Alley - l0:00 p.m.

KRUPKE (whistle): Hey, you!
A-RAB: Who me?
KRUPKE: Yeah, you! (A-rab and Baby John stop surprised.)
A-RAB: Why it is Officer Krupke, Baby John-
BABYJOHN (quaking): Top of the evening, Officer Krupke.
KRUPKE: I'll crack the top of your skulls if you punks don't stop when I whistle. (exits; other Jets appear.)
SNOWBOY: Ya see, cops believe everything they read in the paper.
ACTION: To them we ain't human. We're cruddy juvenile delinquents. So that's what we give 'em.
SNOWBOY (imitating Krupke): Hey, you!
ACTION: Me, Officer Krupke?
SNOWBOY: Yeah, you! Gimme one good reason for not dragging ya down the station house, ya punk!
ACTION: Dear kindly Sergeant Krupke, You gotta understand, It's just our bringing up-ke, That get us out of hand. Our mothers all are junkies, Our fathers all are drunks, Golly Moses, natcherly we're punks!
ACTION and QUARTET: Gee. Officer Krupke, we're very upset; We never had the love that every child oughta get. We ain't no delinquents, We're misunderstood, Deep down inside us there is good!
ACTION: There is good!
ALL: There is good, there is good, There's an untapped good, Like inside the worst of us is good.
SNOWBOY (imitating Krupke): That's a touchin' good story!
ACTION: Lemme tell it to the world!
SNOWBOY ("Krupke"): Just tell it to the judge!
ACTION( to "Judge"): Dear kindly Judge, your Honor, My parents treat me rough, With all their marijuana, They won't give me a puff. They didn't wanna have me, But somehow I was had. Leapin' lizards, that's why I'm so bad!
DIESEL ("Judge"): Officer Krupke, you're really a square; This boy don't need a judge, he needs ananalyst's care! It's just his neurosis that oughta be curbed. He's psychologic-ly disturbed!
ACTION: I'm disturbed!
ALL: We're disturbed, We're disturbed, We're the most disturbed, Like we're psychologic-ly disturbed.
DIESEL ("Judge"): In the opinion of this court, this child is depraved on account he ain't had a normal home.
ACTION: Hey, I'm depraved on account I'm deprived!
DIESEL ("Judge"): So take him to a headshrinker.
ACTION (to "Psychiatrist"): My father is a bastard, My ma's an S.O.B. My grandpa's always plastered, My grandma pushes tea, My sister wears a mustache, My brother wears a dress, Goodness gracious, that's why I'm a mess!
A-RAB ("psychiatrist", Viennese accent): Yes! Officer Krupke, you're really a slob. This boy don't need a doctor, just a good honest job. Society's played him a terrible trick, 'Und' sociogic-ly he's sick!
ACTION: I am sick!
ALL: We are sick, we are sick, We are sick sick sick, Like we're sociologically sick!
A-RAB ("psychiatrist"): In my opinion this child don't need to have his head shrunk at all. Juvenile delinquency is purely a 'zocial' disease!
ACTION: Hey, I got a social disease!
A-RAB ("psychiatrist"): So take him to a 'zocial' worker!
ACTION (to "Social Worker"): Dear kindly social worker. They say go earn a buck, Like be a soda jerker, Which means like be a schmuck. It's not I'm anti-social, I'm only anti-work, Glory Osky, that's why I'm a jerk!
BABY JOHN (imitating female social worker): Eek! Officer Krupke, you've done it again. This boy don't need a job, he needs a year in the penn. It ain't just a question of misunderstood; Deep down inside him, he's no good!
ACTION: I'm no good!
ALL: We're no good, we're no good, We're no earthly good, Like the best of us is no damn good!
DIESEL ("Judge"): The trouble is he's crazy!
A-RAB ("Psychiatrist"): The trouble is he drinks!
BABY JOHN ("Social Worker"): The trouble is he's lazy!
DIESEL ("Judge"): The trouble is he stinks!
A-RAB ("Psychiatrist"): The trouble is he's growing!
BABY JOHN ("Social Worker"): The trouble is he's grown!
ALL: Krupke, we got troubles of our own! Gee, Officer Krupke, We're down on our knees, 'Cause no one wants a fella with a social disease. Gee, Officer Krupke, What are we to do? Gee, Officer Krupke, Krup you!

Adding an effervessant vitamin C-maybe blackcurrant flavour would give a unique taste.

Wendy you had me fooled, I thought 'depraived' was some kinda intentional mountain-person spelling, to go with the title.

Remember there's misspellin's but then there's also typos. Then there's intentional typos (as in I see it but I'm too lazy to backspace and fix it) and you can claim it's carpal tunnel made you do it.

I love that chorus to that song, I want to join in. Maybe change the Officer Krupkeys to Dr Bobs, but "Bob You!" doesn't quite have the same effect as "Krup You!"
