Welcome to Psycho-Babble at 296.33 on your dial

Posted by Phil on January 10, 2003, at 20:23:10

I'm Slob, your host for the evening. Starting us off tonight was Short People by Randy Newman, Whipping Post by the Allman Brothers, Vincent by Don Mclean, Crazy on You by the always beautiful Ann and Nancy of Heart, and You're so Vain by Carly Simon. Thanks for joining us...I'll be right back with more horribly depressing music rrrrrrrright after this. Are you tired, lethargic, sad, not seeing your friends? Is it pitch dark 24 hours a day? Can you sleep 74 hours straight, eat, and go back to bed? These could be signs of depression. Bad ass depression. At Custom Blends, we've mixed up some real crowd pleasers.
Try our new Prozac Classic with a touch of Zyprexa. If you don't mind a few extra pounds, we now offer KlonoPax, now in carefree mints.
And, don't forget our coffee blends, Mocha Mirapex, Jamaican RastaRitalin(our best seller) and, of course sample all of our decaffeinated Xanax teas. We've been in business 12 years except for year six-I was in the psych ward. We are located behind Fred's Blues Bar in the turquoise 15' trailor. See ya, hear?
Okay we're back, 15 songs in a row starting with Janis Ian's supurb classic..Seventeen. You're listening to KRAP, 296.33 on your dial reminding you: Never take your first dose of Remeron before meeting your blind date..I learned the truth at seventeen my boyfriend lived on pinto beans I couldn't fit into my jeans and Wally smelled like Frankensteen.
Thanks Janis, next up, the revered Bobby Goldsboro with Honey. See Honey, how big she's grown, Vato it ain't been that long, she was a twig. And Honey I miss you and I'm stoned real good I'd love to be with you but Paxil killed my wood. Hey, new lyrics, Bobby Goldsboro ladies and gentlemen. Here we go with Mandy by Barry Tangelo..Oh Mandy, you kissed me and I was still baking and I sent you shopping for ding dongs, Hershey's Kisses and Fruit Loops and Salems and you ran away....
Well, that's it for the Slob tonight, up next is Ms Figured to drop your spirits to an all time low. She'll be here right after Old Folks Boogie by Little Feat. Bi...

Phil you're a goofball! i always get a kick out of your amusing little posts...
I planned on adding some cleverness with some other drugs, but fatigue has commenced. Maybe tomorrow (but the pressure's on!)...

makes me think we should start some kind of "Mad Libs" thread...
Thanks for the chuckle,
Karen

do you just rattle these off? have you been doing this the whole four years of your PB life? I wish I would have discovered this site four years ago, but alas, at that time I didn't know I needed it. I was hooked on webhealing back then, obsessed with grief, loss and death.

Seeing you write like this makes me wonder at what point you become serious, or if you are always writing with tongue-in-cheek. dang. we probably can't use that term any more.

Anyone over 50 has to be really careful these days. Can't say thong, gay, freakin, screw, and probably shouldn't say tongue-in-cheek. that is, if one wants to be "proper".

Is there a definition of proper these days?
