I'm eating everything that doesn't move.

Especially sweets.

Almost an entire small cake yesterday. Five (5!!!) Krispy Kreme donuts today. Most unlike me.

Too much sugar makes me stuporous. And I'm trying to forget about my brother, and my parents needing more help, and work.

But I think I'll work on meditation and medication to blank out instead. Tons of sugar everyday just isn't the best way to cope with stress.

Hey Dinah, Bagel-queen here. you should be proud that you've come to that conclusion on your own! Sugar's tough because the more you eat, the more you want.

Even tho I'm totally aware that i "stress eat", I can't seem to put the kibosh on it. Let me know how the meditation goes...it really interests me.

I wonder if hypnosis should be my next path..."Karen...when I snap my fingers you will be drawn to healthy vegetables and receive no comfort whatsoever from the carbs..."...
Snap.

LOL, Kar. I know that meditation, or perhaps self hypnosis, works to blank things out like overloading on sweets does. It just takes a bit more time and effort. I've never had much success in having it make me turn to veggies instead tho.

This is unusual for me in that I usually don't like sweets at all and can't tolerate them. Breads, pasta, etc. are my downfall.

The worst thing is that I just took a fasting glucose test Tuesday because my blood sugars were a wee bit high, and I haven't stopped eating sweets since. Maybe that orange goop they made me drink tasted better than I thought.

I think you're onto something there. I can get a serious sugar habit too, and it's so true, the more you eat, the more you want. I use the old mommy trick of forcing myself to eat a protein food before letting myself have the treat (e.g. drink you milk before you can have a soda), which often helps kill the craving.

It's ok, Dinah. Me too. In fact, I don't even check if it isn't moving. Depakote does that to me. Uggh. At least I am *trying* to cut down and I am getting more exercise.

Don't worry, we all understand. I think we have all been there at some point.
