Complain I'm PRIVATE but when I share...

Posted by Zaney on May 12, 2008, at 22:33:21

I use to post as BIGSPEECH now posting as Zaney.

does it really matter??? My T and my husband constantly tell me I'm private and I need to be more open. My question is this. Why...who will it matter to? I decided they must be right so I would tell them both something very important to me. I told my husband last week that it was the anniversary of my 1st husbands death and that I needed kindness and extra space. He picked all weekend and got mad that I invited my daughter to join us for lunch without asking him (whatever). It would have been easier to take that he was a jerk if I wouldn't have asked him to be kind. Normally, he is a great husband but I shouldn't have told him I needed something or what was going on and it would have been easier to take. The very same thing happened with my T...so my question is what is the point? It didn't make me feel better only worse.

Ouch!! That would hurt a lot. I feel I've been in similar situations and become confused when I try to change my behavior but the other people don't support it. Can you tell more about how your therapist didn't support you? I guess I'd start there. He/she is trained to deal with whatever you say. Your husband may be more difficult but you could learn from your therapist. What happened there? Sorry for your disappoinment and hurt. Widget
