Please say a little prayer for me.

Posted by James K on December 30, 2005, at 16:02:40

Hi. This is a big step for me. I was raised a Christian, but for various reasons I turned away. I have very mixed feelings, beliefs, attitudes for and against God. Now as I trying to maybe really get recovery, I keep bumping into spirituality as a necessity. I've had a few friends tell me over the years that they prayed for me and it meant so much to me. So maybe if all of you believers who read this would just spend a few seconds. I don't need to know about it, and I don't want to be on your regular prayer list, but I need willingness and open-ness as I start a new year - to make it different than the past years. Just posting this scary in its implications for me, but there is a big hole in me, and I don't know if I can get well with it there.

So I'm a 38 year old "kid" in Texas struggling with the meaning and worth of "my" life. And if you could just mention to God I'm here, maybe I'll notice him somehow.

Thank you,
James K.

I just did. I pray that God makes Himself real to you.

Your friend,
Lynn

I had a friend who wanted God to make Himself real to her because she was not sure about God. She called me last night because she was so excited. She said that God had made himself real to her. She said that she had an overwhelming joy. She was so excited.

I pray that God does the same for you and that He meets your every need. I know that He will.

Hey James K, nice to meet you!

Somebody once said something like (meds make me forgetful): We all have a God-shaped hole in us that we go around trying to fill with everything in the world, but only God can fill this empty space to make us whole.

You might try reading "The Case For Faith" and "The Case For Christ".

I'll pray for you.

I'll pray for you, too, James.

crazy t. gave you great advice. I was in the place you're in only less than 4 years ago.

Lee Strobel's books absolutely rock! Please check them out.

I think what you posted here was awesome, BTW.

I know you can't/don't feel or believe it yet, but God sees you ALL THE TIME.

When my T. (who is a Christian as am I - a coincidence only, and he''s not a 'Christian T.' per se) hears me saying I can't find God any more, or He's not listening, or He probably doesn't care any more, etc., etc., he'll say to me:

"Who moved?"

Meaning, that we humans do the moving, 'cause God has been, is, and will be constant and loving and there for us. He does not move! Once you can grasp that more often, I tell you, among other things, the hard parts of life get a bit easier.

oops, rambling here. Anyway, I prayed the same as lynn did for you just now.

By the way, thank you.

Things have been getting better for me. I'm going to keep being open and not forget.

Hey, I've been a Christian for 23 yrs. with a lot of ups and downs, but for ME Christianity just makes sense...and Jesus is MY Lord and MY Savior. God has helped me so much through years of deep depression and severe anxiety...don't get me wrong there were times if i wondered if He even cared about me. Now, I'm on a med that is working great for me (Parnate) and I'm feeling great! Anyway, didn't mean to ramble...Yes I will pray for you. Take care and may God bless you.

Sincerely, Tyler
