> A few years ago I was wondering about the origin of faith. Using the Bible I tried to line up all the genealogy dates, but gave up because there were too many. I did however notice that every 1000 years there was some kind of a major change in the earth; continents divided, earth quakes, etc.

It is another remarkable record. The scrolls contain a complete Bible, from about 1000 years earlier than ours that is very near to the one we use today, and also include the Aprocrypha (Old Testament Books not in Hebrew Bible) as well as many other books, mistakes and errors mingled with accuracy.

Looks like not much happened in the way of catastrophy around this millenium, Dr. Bob,.. relatively speaking. I am ok with having the earth in a stable condition. I have kids. Do you ?

That is an interesting thought, dr. Bob. I have always thought that the 'original sin' is a bad rap to begin with, and it originated as way of humans explaining to themselves the separation from God that happens when they get born. I always wondered, how the world would be if we taught that at the beginning there was not sin, but a painful trauma.

Maybe God does not send us here to punish us, and
maybe Jesus did not die for sins that did not yet happen, as much as for the lack of compassion and understanding in his own age. Maybe. Just a thought that my God sent me to consider.

There is no truth about God - Jesus taught - than the truth that you and I live. We are all stations on God's radio, we all have different tastes in his music.

Please, check that math again dr. Bob

Again, folks, in the interest of therapy here - I don't see signs of 'apocalypse' and for those who do I would recommend to invest in our future by mothering or fathering a child or two. It will change your ideas of the future, unless the illness is too far gone.

What a good suggestion. Invest all we can in today, and let the future take care of itself. It has been suggested that people in every circumstance rich or poor, bond or free can find happiness. We are first of all responsible for our own happiness and attitude. Love and forgive yourself and spread that love and forgiveness over humanity, especially your own family. In so doing remember this thought, "Sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven" and "No other success can compensate for failure in the home".

So, if you had known it was me you were writing to would you have changed anything? I don't know how I missed the faith board when I posted it. I slipped up.

this major change..

Could it be humanity that is changing at the moment, rather than something physical.

Nikki

That is a very good thought Nikki. I think you may be right.
