I'm pretty much stuck on a relatively high dose of a benzo; tapering further seems out of the question right now.
I've been reading some interesting research that indicates that pulsing benzodiazepine (BZD) receptor antagonists may reverse tolerance to benzos, and possibly may ease withdrawal. The idea is that somehow completely blocking the BZD receptor complex 'resets' it to its benzo-naive state.
However, the only one on the market (flumazenil) seems to be reserved for situations of benzo overdose and I doubt I could convince my pdoc to prescribe it.
So, I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of any herbs or supplements that might antagonize the BZD receptor.
Interested to know,
