How high a dose of EPA is reasonably helpful to go (for depression/anxiety/ADHD)?

Doing research I continually run into references to a single study from 2002 comparing 1,2, and 4 grams of EPA which basically said that 1 gm effective but 2 and 4 grams were not.

http://www.1stvitality.co.uk/az/fatty_acids/221002_epa_depression_omega3.htm

The article itself admits some flaws regarding sample size with the higher dose groups, but I'm surprised to continually find this single study quoted over and over nearly 5 years later.

So my question is, really, is there scientific evidence regarding an optimal dose (or range)? Or a titration scheme?

I take 1200 mg of EPA and wonder if there would likely be beneficial to increase to 1800mg/day or even 2400 mg.

It seems that dosage titration until therapeutic effect is reached is the way it's done for antidpressants, and I'm interested if the same applies for EPA fish oil. 1 gram is not cutting it for me but I can't find the evidence to support any benefit of going higher, in fact just the contrary.

Thanks for any input and taking the time to read this. Peace...Saturn.

I think its personal. I havn't noticed much benifit of more than say 1.5 g. Some studies suggest that 1-2g are optimal. You can always try more however.
