Jogging for depression/anxiety relief

Posted by Meri-Tuuli on April 8, 2007, at 2:00:34

What would a good programme be to implement? How often what length of jog etc?

I haven't the faintest idea how to go about doing this. I specifically want it for the anti-depressive properties.

I'm already in good physical shape as in I'm not remotely overweight, and I cycle everywhere as it is anyway (ie into town, to uni to the shops etc) so...hmmmm.....

Any ideas anyone?

Kind regards

Meri

It's perhaps a bit far, but couldn't you cycle to the Russian border and back?

I know someone who cycled from Wurzburg to Barcelona. Sorted himself out doing that.

Hmmm, not really. Although my mother lives very close to the Russian border.... but it wouldn't be all that far, and there's nothing much at the border anyway. Well, there is, a massive amount, but its all hidden. Apparently they have all kinds of James Bond-esque defences - lasers, sand, dogs that bite, and things. The sand is so that they can see if there have been any footprints, you see. The actual border is like 1-2km wide where they have all these things. Its quite incredible.

Anyway.

Your probably doing enough as is. Cycling every day. Realy they suggest all kinds of things. Such as 10 m\in walk 3 times a day. Breaking a sweat for 30 min a week. Maybe you could exercise more mucules, with weights in the gym.
