Anyone know or hear about, or tried, this supposed diet "wonder pill?"

I've tried it, two different brands, and it doesn't really seem to work. Some people have said that there's no real Hoodia in the products, but how could you tell. I've used Trim Spa and Source Naturals.

After reading more about it (see link below), apparently there are some fakes too. I'm looking at one product called Hoodoba Pure. I understand there are many products out there, but some that are not pure.

My concern is how does it make you feel. Any side effects? I can't take anything that causes hyperactivity or palpitations. I'd like to give it a try though, especially if it's natural.

Hi there -

I tried out Hoodia (Source Naturals) for awhile with mixed results - and in the end gave it up.

So I had to take 4-5 pills a day to notice appetite reduction - which it DID have for me. However, I also noticed some weird stuff going on with my mood I wasn't too fond of - some hyperactivity (I think - although to be honest it was mild and I am prone to overreactions to most supplements).

I wasn't very hungry - but it took about a week for the effects to be noticeable. The effects were indeed reduced appetite - so you have to make sure you DO eat.

I have to say, I eventually dropped it because my appetite was reducing from taking EFAs anyway. I have a long-term problem with bulimia, so eating has always been a sticky subject.

I really have dealt with food problems for a loooong time - and must say (sorry people, once more) that getting enough EFAs - possibly a lot more than is recommended, goes a huge way to managing weight (note my weight initially went up and now has come down).

Sorry - that was off subject. So Hoodia did work for me, but I didn't feel comfortable taking it in the long run.

That was pretty clever, and funny -- point taken.

Glad to see you back, missed you Larry. When you have a moment, can you refer to my post of 6/3 back in the SeaVegg thread, in response to your's of 5/31? Much appreciation.

No point made. Please don't take it that way. I just had that song instantly go through my head, "Who....Who do ya think yer foolin'", or something like that.

I love word play, that's all.

I had a horrible week. Bad med reaction. I'll get there. No promises when.

Oh, OK. Thought you were sending a message. Don't think I know that song.

So sorry to hear you have not been well. Please, take your time, no problem at all. Hope you're feeling better soon.
