Dosage Intervals for Saint John's Wort?

Posted by laurie_lu on August 22, 2004, at 21:46:14

Is it neccessary for the "3times/day" routine? When I use to take SJW years ago, I would often forget to take the mid day pill because I was too busy at work and couldn't get a break to take the pill. Other times when I remebered the forgotten dose, I would double up on it at the bedtime dose. How critical is it to space out the 3 doses evenly? It would be alot easier for me to take the SJW at breakfast and at bedtime.

Not from what I've heard and read. Some people take it all at once at night.

There's a brand by New Chapter called SC27 that only requires 1 pill per day because it's super concentrated at 10% hyperforin.I'm thinking of going off the ssri and trying this brand,I've heard alot of good things about it.

I've heard a lot of good things about it as well. Definitely let me know how it goes if you decide to take that route. I recently tried Perika but it was a disaster. I've taken a small amount of the Jarrow brand and didn't have those horrible reactions so I'm planning on trying SJW again in the future - just not the Perika brand.
