Dear larry and friends , Why?

Posted by Ron Jones on October 17, 2003, at 15:31:08

I just want to know what causes mental illness and if any form of mental illness can be cured?I would like to know how drugs work and what causes the side effects?I want detailed scientific answers .After 30 years no one knows why lithium works. Is mental illness for life?Is there no cure if it is a defective gene or genes?Could it be a medical illness not discovered .Chill out .These are real questions that need scientific amswers.

Do you ask these questions for personal reasons or are you writing a research paper?
I believe it's your passive-aggresive method of asking that some are finding insulting. Just like when you say "chill-out". Seems like you are trying to rile people up on purpose. is there a reason for this?

I want people to take action and not be passive.I hate the way doctors take your money and they do nothing to cure you. They really do not know the things a neuroscientist knows about mental illness.I need people with brains and scientific minds to look at the new research on mental illness,People who can understand the brain and how it works. The new research on inositoil and Ip3 is out of this world. If mental illness is genetic then it can not be cured without gene therapy.Do you not want a cure?Do you not want to know the truth?I am a natural born fighter. My research has helped me become 90% free of agoraphobia.

Did you will yourself out of it? What do you take? How long have you been 90% free of agoraphobia? How old are you? When did you first discover you had this? Where are you getting your research? Have you had bad experiences with all doctors? Are you a happy person?

Keeping in mind the idea that the idea here is not to post anything that could lead others to feel accused or put down, could you please rephrase that? Thanks,

Bob

Whoa!!
Is Mr Jones actually an alter-ego of Dr Bob who has big problems with psych. medicine?? Why is he getting so much support when he's making us all feel like crap? (or maybe it's just me).

Why is Ron Jones not asked to rephrase his rhetoric Dr. Bob? Don't you find what he has said on this board a bit offensive? Just curious why he seems to be the one that is defended.

I'd already asked him to be civil:
