Omega-3 mechanisms of action in brain?

Posted by taylor18 on October 13, 2003, at 5:36:17

What do omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, not ALA, do in the brain that accounts for (A) their roles in increasing concentration, focus, reasoning abilties, (B) lessening positive symptoms of schizophrenia and schizotypal personality traits (C) countering hypomania/mania.

I just read a fascinating post on dopamine, it's myriad of roles, and how omega-3's are involved that got me interested.
