> Apparently God gave me Bipolar I disorder at birth because Adam sinned (although I don't think he would have done it had it not been for Eve). All that masturbating in adolescence made it worse because that's when I started ending up in the hospital with mania. I had sex out of wedlock several times with women who, like Eve, were very tempting to me at the time. This must have caused the resulting bouts of clinical depression. Now that I understand that sin has caused my disorder I plan on discontinuing my Lithium and replacing it with Truehope CNE.

I'm going to remind you again to please not be sarcastic and to please respect the views of others, even if you think they're wrong.

Apologies are great, however, characterizing a thread as "homophobic and a joke" is uncivil.

If you are asking about necrophilia, it means a person gets erotic stimulation from corpes, perhaps more commonly known as having/wanting to have "sex with a dead body."

Hope that clarifies.

I appreciate your patience with me Dinah as I have little patience with the views of this poster. One admin question, if I have twice now merely paraphrased (something you like to call sarcasm) the statements of another person why were not the original posts also deemed uncivil?

I'm not sure what you mean, since the poster received a PBC and has since been blocked on a different board.

It is fine to have whatever feelings you might have, about any poster. Including impatience. The site guidelines only ask that you post with civility, whatever your feelings.

It seems to me that those questions would be an attempt to get the following answer:

Of those who replied,

wherever you asked the question,

which group is more or less monogamous -

1)Heterosexuals OR 2)Other sexual orientations.

Is that what you're wondering?

>Something I have always wondered, Is there a correlation between anti depressants, and sexual immorality/orientation?

I don't see why anti-depressants would have anything at ALL to do with sexual orientation.

In my opinion & to my understanding, a person is whatever sexual orientation they are. I don't see how taking any type of medication would have anything to do with that??

~ ~ ~ I don't see why depression would have ANYthing to do with one's sexual orientation. I can see that depression and/or medication could affect a person's sexual feelings or sexual functioning, but not orientation.

PS - What I said above, I mean for all people of all orientations.

This is ridiculous. Its just a fact this thread is homophobic, and it certainly has not been a serious discussion of mental illness. Incivility doesn't include being blind to insults from others.

The civility guidelines of this site do not require that you be blind to anything. They do require that you *post* according to the civility guidelines of this site.

Or as Dr. Bob says "Two wrongs don't make a right." "Please respect the views of others even if you think they're wrong. Please be sensitive to their feelings even if yours are hurt."

Please keep the civility guidelines in mind when you choose to post.

If you or others have questions about this or about posting policies in general, or are interested in alternative ways of expressing yourself, please see the FAQ:

Dr Bob asks that we not post anything in violation of the civility guidelines, even if quoting someone else.

I realize that this post was not given an individual PBC, but a general PBC was given on the thread. A good general rule would be not to post anything you would hesitate to write, considering the civility guidelines.

I believe than numerous posters were more than patient with the discussion here and on Politics for a very, very long time.

I've been here a long time and I've never seen such a disruptive and unkind thread be allowed to go on as long as these threads did. This just didn't start the day that the originator of the thread was PBCed the first time because it had a full head of steam by the time it was noticed. I received a lot of Babblemail questioning why something had not been done to put a stop to the threads.

And of course we can all ignore posts and move on..but at what cost? If I see what I believe is injustice and prejudice in a thread, I'll step up and try to reason with the poster. I'll keep trying for as long as I have the patience left in me. It is human nature to push the edge of the envelope when patience has run out and frustration takes over.

I am not faulting you, Dinah, at all. Just expressing feelings similiar to Topher's post.

I am going to start using that notification button a lot sooner from now on.

In addition, I agree with you about the Politics Board. We had asked Dr. Bob for further guidance on that board, which has meant that Administrative actions on that board have been slow and perhaps that board has lately not been monitored as closely as it should be. However, the situation has now been rectified and in the future the standards applied to the rest of Babble will be applied to that board on a very timely basis.
