Self blocking

Dr. Bob has never been crazy about blocking people for their own good. But Willow gave me a self blocking technique that works pretty well.

Change your password to a string of unmemorable letters and numbers. You won't be able to post without first changing your registration and changing your password to something else.

If you want to block yourself forever (which I certainly hope you don't), also change your email address to a false one. That way the confirmation code won't get to you.

Ummm, of course you can go. When I tell my wife that I want to take you, that will surely free up a seat for you. Then you both can come tell me how the show was when you visit me in the hospital.

Like dieters and exercising, do you want to take a break from PB together? We'd take a few days or a week off with no posting or even reading under the honor system. I could use a break as well.

Phew thank you! » Dinah

I can't comment *for* someone else, but I can tell you my impression on reading something if that helps.

I took it as a "don't be mad at me" coupled with a play on words with your name. Started from a sincere desire to ask you to love yourself. Possibly misunderstanding that you really just wanted to get blocked.

Just let me know the date when we're free to post again (say 6/27/05). I'm going to try and stay away altogether so I will google your name when I get back to see if you were compliant with our deal. We'll have no way of knowing if the other is reading PB or has displaced this addiction with another site, like Blond Farm Animal Lovers or something, so we'll just have to be honorable. If you cheat, you have to eat a large Caesar salad laden with chicken. If I cheat, I'll part with my beloved Vixen doll and mail it to you. Deal?

I did. But I played more cards on Yahoo so I'm not cured or anything. I will admit that I came on Saturday to find out how you were doing, so technically I broke the deal also and some chicken somewhere will be spared.

I have the same problem rain. I'm not sure that its the irresistable appeal of PB as much as a compelling avoidance to work and responsibility. You seemed to have found a way to taper off your participation of late. How did you manage to do that? Are you getting more work done?

I'm not very good with New Years resolutions either.

Good! :-)

Toph!! wow i was feeling soooo guilty all day lol but, at least you confessed....I bought a chicken ceaser today (becasue I always follow through :-)) and the poor pieces of chicken BEGGED and begged that I not eat them LOL ....so I didnt :-)

> I have the same problem rain. I'm not sure that its the irresistable appeal of PB as much as a compelling avoidance to work and responsibility.

YES!! I know, its soo frustrating. I hate responsibilty and work :-( and I always manage to find something else more important to do.

>You seemed to have found a way to taper off your participation of late. How did you manage to do that?

Well, as soon as I dont have to be at a computer...Im cured! If things have to be done away from a desk then I do them...but since work generally requires the use of a desk I never DO IT LOL Im so productive I tell you...

>Are you getting more work done?

Well I did some really half a** work, Im thorugh the worst of it now, but more to come....sigh

> I'm not very good with New Years resolutions either.

lets not even go there, according to my NYR's I should be a perfect, amazingly healthy productive person LOL....Im not HAHA

Im going to try to stick to my last day being today for awhile...hope I am able to control my urges hehe

The topic is the self-administration of internet use Bob. But I see how this could easily turn into a social discourse on the value of poultry consumption. Sorry.

In the military, they told us don't even think about fake suicide attempts. Then they told us specific ways to accomplish suicide and explained that anything short of succesful suicide would be treated like an act.

Same goes for "self-blocking". It's easy for anyone with more than a third-grade education to figure out a series of actions that would lead to a confrontation with the hair-trigger policies of this site. And it's just as easy to figure out how to escalate such actions so as to prevent a person from using a particular username for as long as a year.

Most delimas are actually easy to resolve if one sets aside basic presumptions of social realities.

Cool, I didn't know that. I wish I could discuss this with you in more detail, but I can't...it is a forbidden topic.

Is it permissible to discuss this via babblemail?
