Reporting an adverse event

Posted by nikkit2 on April 29, 2005, at 8:00:27

Out of interest Dr Bob, if one were to report an adverse event, does anyone other than you see them? Are they dealt with by any committee, or just you?

I hadn't realised they were sent to you now that the research study is off..

Thanks, Nikki

Good questions. I thought they were just for technical problems. What kinds of adverse events are they for?

Right, when this was considered research, they were sent to a committee, but now they go just to me.

So...

Is there any point in anyone raising one?

Its just I have suggested it as a course of action to someone, and it was pointed out to me that there really wouldn't be any point in doing so.

Can you just explain to us how that course of action differs in result to posting on here?

Thanks

Nikki x

I become aware of it either way, but that's a more specific, official record, while this is more for discussion.
