Lamictal at 600mg

Posted by rjlockhart37 on January 19, 2022, at 20:37:12

I went to a movie and forgot i took my medication. I took 600mg and defeintly have an stablization, antidepressant effect, but it's not like an antidepressant. I feel right now that it's forcing my nuerotransmitters to go back to baseline. That's why lamotragine has antidepressant effects at times.

Baseline level is good. Don't make yourself feel high as a kite without reason. I have made really bad experiences with trying to induce a pharmaceutical hypomania. Feeling well by improving your life and personality is much safer and more sustainable.

there isnt much cognitive side effects, it depends, there's times when ill take lamotragine and it will bland out emotions, but i realize when im depressed and take the 2nd dose of lamictal, it rises me back to baseline. I take 400 and it's ... a good medication, it's more perfered antidepressant effects. Lithium seems to be more for mania, or hypomania. Lithium increases serotonin levels in brain, which is why has some antidepressant. I read an article that lithium increases serotonin, but decreases the sites, or something.

it's a mood stabizing med more for depressive symptoms. But yes it's helpful sometimes. Other tims sometimes i feel dulled out, then others it brings me back base

today i took the 2nd dose and had a small rise in depression, i took prozac in the morning but still depression lingers over me, I don't know why i get depressed on prozac, have to take lamictal to wear off the rest of the depression. Sometimes i think being depressed is natural, in making you think you need to do somethings. Can't be happy or content all the time with life, there's problems to deal with. But lamictal gave me small lift today back to normal mood

Baseline is very good, "dulled out" not so much.

I like lithium at a low dose very much. It is a neuroprotectant. It can have anti suicidal effects.

a former psychiatrist mentioned once that he would go to 600mgs/lamictal in some cases. ugh. given what I've seen at that clinic...

--social control-- --chemical restraints-- I guess at least its not handfuls of Thorazine? ugh.

I'm not so sure if it is social control. I used to think that way when I wasn't doing very well. I think they do want to help you. Of course there are rotten treatment providers, but you will find that in every profession.
