My son is almost 12 years old and has been on lithium for some time. I don't know exactly how long because he came to us through the foster care system. I suspect (but obviously don't know) that his diagnosis and subsequent treatment for bi polar disorder may be in error. I suspect his problems are at least to some extent behavioral. I want to take him off as many medications as possible, and because of the long term effects of Lithium, it is my first choice. I would like feedback regarding your readers' experiences with withdrawal from lithium as well as their opinions about the likelihood of a successful outcome.
This is the end of the thread.
