I am now Effexor-free after a year and half of withdrawal. Unfortunately, I have been hit with a very deep and awful depression--nothing to do with the Effexor, which stopped stopped working for me years ago. The meds dr. wants me to try 5 mgs of Celexa to get me through the next 2 weeks (when i restart therapy).
I know 5 mgs isn't much, but I am very wary of getting back on an anti-depressant. I don't think anything short of shock therapy will help me right now.
What do you out there think?

I take Celexa now, for the last 6 years. Don't think it is addictive. It does help, and may decrease withdraw, gives a mild lift.

the dr. assured me that i wouldn't have problems phasing off this if/when the time comes. so far, i've only been on a couple days. i'll see in 2 wks if this low dosage provides any relief.
