stress

Posted by philyra on February 24, 2007, at 7:50:00

i just wanted to whine for a minute.

i'm so tired. i'm tired of spending every waking minute reading and writing. i read a magazine yesterday and i felt like i was cheating on somebody.

i have this really bad habit now where i get out of bed and turn on the computer to start working before i'm even really AWAKE yet. yesterday i turned on the computer and realized i only had one eye open.

this is sad.

why isn't it spring break yet??

the good thing is my anxiety isn't as bad as before. i'm just so tired......

sigh,

Hi Philyra,

Whining is perfectly all right. Maybe you can make your computer screen saver a count down to spring break? Change it everyday.

Now, get away from the computer, and read another article in the magazine.

You haven't had reading week yet? Or as we all call it, suicide prevention week... We had ours last week. Only 7 more weeks of classes left! Yippee! (Well 12 with exams.. ick)

Don't get too stressed, and I agree with poet, read some more magazine articles!

i don't think grad students get reading days, at least they don't at my school. we don't have midterms, but on the other hand, a lot of profs assign *more* reading over spring break since you're "missing" a class. whatever!

don't get me wrong, i adore my program, but sometimes (like right this second) i really don't know what the heck i've gotten myself into.

just...have...to...finish...this...project...then...sleep......

but then, yes, only 6 more weeks i think, and then final projects (no final exams for us either).

take care,
philyra

For us reading week = spring break. They can't call it spring break because, well, in the middle of February, it's not very spring like (except for this year... but that was strange, and we now have more snow.).

I hate the extra readings over the break. It seems so stupid. We had some homework we were suppose to do (not to hand in) so this morning I headed down to class early, and you wouldn't believe how many other people ended up joining me in finishing the homework. But the worst part is, we didn't even go over it in class! What was the point in giving it to us in the first place?

How's your project going?

You are so lucky you just have projects and not exams!!!!

I think I could have written that post. I feel awful right now because it's been 40 minutes since I woke up (slept way too late, too) and I haven't started working. And people think being a student is all fun and games... I really hope college isn't the best time of my life, like everyone says.

Oh, that project i was working on when i wrote that post is over, thank goodness. but now the next one is sucking up all of my waking hours.

whine, whine, whine. one project after the next. based on my quick calculations i have FOUR huge projects before semester's end plus all the various reading and grading. maybe i should construct some kind of countdown on my computer.

i hate it when homework isn't covered in class!!

hope you're enjoying your spring break lol,
philyra
