now i have been working.
i have
i HAVE
but... probably not as dilligently as i could have been.
and i was thinking... i could write a 'series of related essays' (where a bit of repetition would be tolerated and where i have written a couple of those already) but apparantly noooooooooooo i cannot do that :-(
so.
i shoved it all together...
and deleted the repetition...
and managed to violently impose a structure...
we have a structure
a structure has emerged
:-)
but now...
i need to turn those chapters
into self-contained essays
again
:-(hmm.
i start with a chapter.
delete all the crap.
then find... i'm left with one third of a chapter.
and lots i need to say but...
it takes time to write it again...five chapters...
plus one introduction (the length of a chapter)
possibly... one more chapter (maybe maybe but i won't know until i get there...)two weeks...
thats about... three chapters per week...
thats about... a chapter per two days...then...
two weeks to edit and tidy and find the references
:-(time to get back to work
:-(and dare i say
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
why am i doing this again?????
oh yeah...
so i can get started on another one
:-(
(i'm okay really... at least... i'm okay at this point in time...)

I'll say an AHHHHHHHHHHH for you too.
Try to keep focused. Think small bits. really small bits. Think of 2 weeks as a long time. And keep reminding yourself of how rewarding it will feel when you finish :-)
you can do it!
PS- whatcha doing on babble? I saw your name on social....hmmm are you working ;-)?

Hey. Yeah... Still... I've been working on it since March last year. Or... Well... Since November the year before that really...

Yeah... Sometimes it seems a bit overwhelming.
But... I think it really is doable. And as usual... Its my own fault for leaving the bulk of the hard work so late. But then it really is hard not to...I remember talking to some people doing their PhD and they were saying the majority write their thesis in 6 months. Because... You read and think and write but the trouble is your views evolve and your emphasis changes and so what you write needs to be reworked or trashed anyway. Its not till you have 6 months that you actually sit down and write the darned thing... And theirs is about 2 1/2 X the length of mine and so I really do think it is possible for me to do this...
> PS- whatcha doing on babble? I saw your name on social....hmmm are you working ;-)?Heh heh. Finished my chapter for today.
Well... Will go tidy it up now and I might even get a head start on tomorrows lot.Have to take a day to move house (across campus) next week too...
Okay... I'm going now ;-)

not particularly. i mean... the hall i'm in now was my last pick of halls. but i left applying to stay so late that i was lucky to get a place at all.
so i guess i'd prefer to be in the other one. its closer to everything that i want / need on campus so that is great. and its a cottage / flat instead of a concrete tower block which is nice.
and there are less people over there than the 320 at this hall which will be nice.
but i haven't gone and had a look...
so i guess its hard to get into the spirit of it.
i wonder how many computers there are ;-)i guess... i do want to move but i don't need the hassle of moving if you get what i mean. i have a LOT of stuff. it will take me all day. and because of the lifting / walking i'll probably be fairly crippled for the few days after. they *told* me when it was convenient for me to move - and picked a week day when anyone i know to help me will be working or otherwise occupied. so... not too happy about that. but i'm sure i'll be okay once i'm there.
it is just... more things to do other than my work. and... i'm not doing so well with getting into that. today... the depression about it all has truely begun to sink in... and i have to do something which will take all of tomorrow... and then the next day i'll have to go on a box hunt and pack... and then the next day i'll be moving... and i'll be the last one to go and people are just leaving their sh*t all over the flat. and so... i'll have to clean it up... i mean... they are cleaning a bit... but just leaving stuff they don't feel able to dump. and i don't want it either. and i hate it i hate it when i have to work i just need the whole world to f*ck off so i get it done. i'm no good at juggling things. and i don't cope with stress. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
