I'm a grad student in counseling. Also in the east. Also too paranoid to say where.

I'm just taking 2 classes at a time since I have 3 young kids. And bipolar illness that comes and goes. But boy, when it comes...watch out.

I am absolutely in LOVE with my future profession.

And you as well. :) I don't usually come here because up until now I have been only taking one class at a time, and not having many student issues...now I've bumped it up to two classes a semester and I'm starting to get into the flow of being a student again. And the stress as well. I wish I could take classes full time, but I don't think I would be a very good mother/ student/ example of mental health.

Can I ask what you all are studying?

Ahh ha! I was guessing that. Good for you. It must be extremely interesting.

If I were studying something that...philosophical, I don't think I could bring myself to leave my thoughts and dwell on the more mundane day to day tasks. If I get caught up in extremely intellectual thinking, I want to stay there. I'm impressed if you have found a balance.

It's funny, I studied psychology (and anthropology) as an undergraduate, before I ever suffered from mental illness. I must have known on some level how complex and difficult my psyche was...or in an attempt to figure myself out??

Only after suffering quite a few breakdowns and being hospitalized did I start a masters in counseling. But the seeds were there long before.
