Coronavirus - babble support board

Posted by rjlockhart37 on March 26, 2020, at 0:09:10

i've been thinking about this, it's fun here what we do and talk, but right now even where i live near dallas, it is becoming so rampant, people ... they don't have enough to see therapits. You maybe an idea we could kick this board up for a temporary support board for people who are suffering with ecomonical, or actually having the coronavirus, they could post here and have support, and not medical advice, but street advice that is for the good.

It's spreading so quickly, people have to stay home, we could use this site to invite people to discuss whats goign on, and keep support and productive ideas why they are having a hard time. This board is kinda....its from the 1990s, its an old format, but still that's an idea. I don't know how we would advertise or get their attention, there's medical boards, but this board has been around since 1995, posting started around 1998.

I don't know, it's an idea maybe give it a shot

i don't know, reddit and all other post boards, but this board one of the older boards on net. Except on a different server. I remember the good ole days, high minded pharmacology people would have in depth discussion about mechanisms. There was a lot of conflict, and arguments, and yes i was one them, i argued alot because i didn't have social skills like i do know, would fight with people constantly and get blocked for a month or 2. I would make new screen name and then that one would get blocked.....yes drama queen's history is in the archives. But there was a lot of debates and argument back in early 2000 to late to 2000s, troll people loved to harass posters and make them mad and go crazy, then go on rants and have temper tantrums.... then they got blocked. Good ole babble days....loved the fun.

like a town or a city that once was thriving a populated then kinda everything left, drama history on the 2000s boards, there friendships, and contents, there all gone because of social media, people kinda just left this board. So i guess.....its just us here, the main posters. But i do think its good idea to be open for people for help or support during this time, i just don't know how they would get involved, most of the stuff on this board is read by people. I don't know....maybe what we post here can be helpful to readers on the net during this hard time, with the shut down.

logging out

but really we need to be supportive during this time, not sure if all posters are in the US but its bad....contagion outbreak, have to write encouraging posts, and messages for people online on advice or how to get through it.

I would imagine that what people want...

Is to know how things are for other people. In the various communities that people are living in. Around the state. Around the country. Around the globe.

If there is a shortage of toilet paper for me, is there a shortage of toilet paper for everyone else? Is some community living the life of toilet paper luxury while some other communities have not seen toilet paper for months?

Are some people being kept by the miltary in home detention in a trailer park facility...

While some other people are living the life of luxury partying things up in their mansion with a year's worth of prime beef in the freezer and tennis courts and private beaches?

The WHO has been saying for a while, now, that inequality was the biggest threat to peace and security.

The private sphere has largely hunkered down. Hiding their wealth and assets and luxuries...

While the people kept in the slums that they made continue their prostitution and drug dealing and so on and so forth...

Tis a big f*ck*ng mess that they made.

yeah i know, there's people that have safe houses, a lot of resources, money. It's really killing the middle class in america and also the hospitals are being overwhelmed completely because of this outbreak surge. I really don't know how to give advice to people because, there at home, they can't do much without the risk of being infected. You know....middle school encouragement messages i don't think would work. Be postive, yes that is good, but positive think is good way to keep you hopes up, but also having hope, i think more stronger than postive thinking. It's more like a intellectal new age way of thinking. Positive thinking was created by Norman Vincent Paele, in the 1950s. Yes it was a big sell back then, and still stay with many people. I think it's --- superfical, like being optimistic, when true hope has deeper roots. I don't know how to explain that, jibber jabber.

But, i see on nightly news how bad it is right now, im the US, and its all over the news this, is a outbreak that spreads so fast. And yes like you said, there's people on islands, and other place living a luxury life. But, you know we can't do anything about that, that's good for them, but need to think what need to do. Middle school advice or encouragement for people during this time, therapist i think are being seen more. I think right now, maybe later on, a grey state could happen. Whatever comes, just have flow through it and pray that won't get infected.

these spiritual movements happening right now, the divine movement, is based from the new thought movement that started in the 1900s. Positive thinking, law of attraction, ascension to higher self. It's kinda new age stuff.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Thought

but none of these i would think would help people, during this hard time. Maybe just having faith, and prayer. I don't alex, started a post that i don't know how to end it.

I just read this in the Washington Post:

'Going it alone, it turns out, is actually the most social thing we could possibly do - the most civic-minded and the most communitarian. It's not that we don't care about handshakes and hugs. It's that we do care. Hugs are too important to give up forever, but the only way to protect the people we want to hug and to hug them with abandon again someday is to clasp our hands behind out backs for a little while longer.'

Well, that's nice.

Public libraries have come a long way. That was even easy to reference. Hur.

Yeah, there nice. What thing that makes me ponder, you know all of those huge libraries from like along time ago, older libraries, like in new york, in the past, i mean massive amount of books that required ladders to get. It's just, seeing nearly millions of books in private libraries in offices, homes, libraries, schools, i mean there were so many books, near a billion. And just like....what were in all those books, because back in the early centuries, its like what did they write about, poetry, mathematics, fictional stories, ... you get what im saying those libraries that mega huge get on high ladders to get the book. It's like what info was in those, because today books have been reduced, there more contemporary with current times, self help books, fiancince success books, good fiction novels, but like all those forget books in those mega huge libraries, would love to know what was written in all them.

Maybe knowledge from the past, roman empire and previous centuries like medieval ages. It's a mystery to me, that i would love to discover. But .... i'm not a consistent book reader, i just pick up a book a scan through stuff that details and gibbish, and try to find the main points, or pain points in a story in fiction books. I don't like reading detailed explanation babbler, just add on stuff. That being prescribed unlimited dexedrine, and going to library and explore the novels.

Anyways, another rj rant. I don't know what could do here to help, maybe do research and be like a info interest for readers that are stuck at home. This quarantine thing is really gonna be long time, might as well gets some facts about topics and write posts about interesting things.

i don't know alex, maybe you have some ideas instead of messy ones i have

well, reading your 'messy' ideas is a comfort to me rj. my ideas aren't any tidier than yours.

i had a really vivid mental picture forming in my mind of the kind of library you describe.

imagining... monks. something like that, i guess. people who devoted their lives to keeping the books. retaining the lore. learning from the lore.

for me it's tied up in the idea of wizards, too. studious. magic that comes from studious effort. not like these sourcerers with their wild-type natural talent that they don't know how to control... the kind of knowledge that comes from effort and hard work.

it used to be quite hard to write things down in a way that was persistent.

imagine carving the 10 commandments on stone tablets. imagine... carving a message on stone tablets.

you really wouldn't want to make a typographical error. oops. a mis-speak.

the work and expense that goes into the production of paper.

calligraphy.

the inks and dyes. the effort of keeping and using a quill pen. of writing.

it's amazing, isn't it, how for such a long long long long time in human history (well, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of years... I don't know how many generations) some people have worked to hard, so determinedly, to write things down. to leave messages for the future.

not so very long ago people used to write theses by physically cutting and pasting. writing it all down by hand. chopping bits out and moving them around.

i still do this.

i do suppose a more evolved state will be one in which a person can do it with computer software. not need to print and color and scan like i have to, right now, i'm not there yet...

it's a different kind of thing.. this ability to write as fast as the speed of thought. then to go back and edit it and re-edit it and work it and re-work it over and over and over and over.

and i imagine moses carving into stone tablets.

it's a different kind of thing.

i think thats why it makes sense to think that there might be more of value in the older stuff. an economy. a quality that is rare nowdays. because it is too easy to produce in current environment. quality control.

quality control is what will turn south, now, with the forced increase in production.

imitation.

counter-fit.

counter-fit.

yeah.

it is like there was that Autistic guy in NY who painted like he was a printer. he would carefully produce details. like he had the overall plan or picture in his mind and he was copying from his mind onto the page.

whereas most people would draw a picture by sketching the outline and then filling in more of the details gradually.

some people seem to write slowly. like lots of time thinking. then writing down a sentance. then not changing the sentance. it largely stays. the thought went into it first then the sentance comes out.

but other people start by blah blah blah blah blah until the word limit is reached. then you... revise it up in the available time.

ta da.

haha.

i posted this, for a support board for the COIV-19 outbreak, this site is more reading from the internet. I guess people don't, know how to start off with posts, the 2000s was a talk show, then 2010s people disappeared. I think this board is older format that from the 1990s, it hasnet changed, exept for a server conversion, new data system.

just the main posters right now
