Spring is the worst time of year for me. Every year, without fail, I have horrible issues. It has yet to matter what outside triggers I have, what meds I'm on and whether they work.
Right now it's especially bad because I'm in the middle of law school exams. Or especially good, because some days I'm high hypomanic and getting a whole lot done! And then there are the other days, mixed, when part of me worries if I'm scaring my co-workers yet.
The funny thing is I don't have this problem during the other solstice or around the equinoxes [what is the plural of equinox?]. Anyone else notice this oddity about spring?

Sounds like the old named classic bipolar. And you are at the right age. Are you seeing a doc? Phillipa

Yep - a great neuropsychiatrist. It's just frustrating that I have to hate such a lovely time of year. I was just wondering if anyone else had the seasonality of it.

Yes, I have noticed Spring tends to be "interesting". I thought I'd figured out the pattern-- depression starting up in the winter holidays, finally breaking into hypomania in Spring, settling into relative normalcy in Summer. But as per usual any time I think I've figured out triggers, they change. This year I felt good all the way through the holidays and Spring has brought an awful downspell. I don't know what to predict any more.

I'm wondering if the strange weather put most of us on a roller coaster type of ride as not bipolar but this year sure have felt strange? Phillipa

Spring was when I discovered I was bipolar. It also claims the most suicides.

Happens to me every spring like clockwork. This is very common with affective disorders. April is the worse month. When certain spring flowers start to bloom, my mood lifts. I have always had a strong connection to nature. Was a bit hyped up whith the last moon event.
Exercise in the morning and keeping a routine sleep/wake cycle is, very helpful.
