I went through a period where I was very suicidal and was driving 1-1/2 to work twice a week at high speeds. I often thought about crashing the car into an embankment.
Instead, I started listening to Bach two and three part inventions. Mostly played by Angela Hewitt. I also got a CD of the Tocattas, the piano concertos, the violin concertos, the cello suites. I loved the inventions. Trying to keep track of all the parts absorbed my attention while I was driving. Also, just being so amazed that someone could play pieces that were so intricate and complicated.
I love Bach. After that I love Chopin. I could listen to his Ballades all day.

I arose before dawn <joke!> and it must have been around Easter. Before light I listened to 'Mache Dich Mein Herze Rein' and those notes at the end of begrabben (I think) stretched into endlessness. Very wonderful.

some things are calming other things energizing. I just listened to the presto, brandenburg concerto nr. 4 with two flutes, and violine.
there's a youtube stream with semiprofessionals

I don't know what the presto is but the third movement of the 4th Brandenburg concerto has this part where I just about always get lost no matter how hard I try to pay attention, and that is all I ask.
I really love counterpoint like that.
