pregnant after 35?

Posted by sleepygirl2 on January 18, 2012, at 20:41:36

Anyone?
Was it difficult? More risks?
Anyone care to say?
I'm not, and haven't been, but might want to be.

At age 35 my youngest was pregnant and believe it or not and I couldn't now 35 is considered almost old as she had to have all kinds of testing done genetic and all for risk factors. Baby was fine and all tests also but you used to get preganant and no worries now they seem to put stress on the new Moms. hard to believe that 35 is now the cut off for the testing to begin. Many women have children after 40.

Some risks, some benefits.

Sleep deprivation hits a bit harder, less bounce back as they say. Risk to children is minimal.

Before 40, ladies are still spring chickens....

So live it up ;-)

That's how I feel as the tests imposed at the biggest risk did you have to do them also? My oldest was in early 40's no kids had tubes blown and still nothing so she's accepted it she just waited too long. What about that lady with the millions of kids it seems. Isn't she pregnant yet again? Phillipa

if you might want to be,just study up on all the pros and cons.get as healthy as you can. I will caution you that they grow up and it is sooooo difficult to let them go,and the time will fly by.

I think that might be because teenagers live nearby crazytown. I don't think there are any detours. You must drive straight through.

Primary school town is on some prime real estate, let me tell you.... Remember Richard Scarry 'Busy Town' books?

I know a few people who have gotten pregnant after 35 and had perfectly normal and super-smart kids. Their energy is lower, so it seems like it's sometimes physically more difficult to have a young child. On the other hand, you're probably more emotionally and educationally prepared.

Statistically, I think having a pregnancy later in life can have risks due to aging of oocytes and loss of chromosomal integrity. You may be at increased risk of miscarriage or other birth defects....but depends again on the woman and the particular oocyte.....but it can happen in a 25 yr. old too....
