This one was at a Christmas concert. I was in school and young (of course). We had to sing some song, and I had a teacher and judge Judy criticizing us/me for my ability to remember the lyrics, stay in the proper order, etc. I kept forgetting where I'd left the sheet with the words on it, I kept having to leave because I needed to do things to get ready.
It was an anxious dream, and judge Judy didn't just criticize she communicated that acceptable people would remember the words, and that if you didn't, you were a horrible person.
another recent one: a childhood friend was in an ICU. He was there because of some type of damage he'd done to himself, I told him that he was all I could remember of what it was like to be a real child. I was trying to keep him from destroying himself. He was hooked up to all sorts of equipment. I had to sneak in to see him. There was some notion that I didn't belong there.
weird...

What is it with dreams lately as keep having what I call nightmares about all my old high school friends and family I'm with them in the now and happy and then wake and forget who I am or where I am. And wish I was back in the dream. I have heard that dreaming like this means death. I think mine have progressed from anxiety as used to have the rushing ones glad to wake from to these where I want to stay cause it's better. I don't like them. Sleepy you want yours to stop also? They say they are ways of ridding self of daytime anxiety but not sure now. Phillipa

That sounds like Judge Judy. Shame n' blame. My mom used to watch her, so I endured some episodes to spend time with her. The judge did say something I said to my husband the other day (not to him, but about something else). "Don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining.". There's all the wisdom I gleaned from her show.
And about the other dream, can I airmail you a hug? Then there is the idea I get from that last sentence, that you didn't belong there.... That seems positive somehow.

I like the 'take the cotton out of your ears and put it in your mouth' line. I suppose that dream was in part about not being good enough, but trying anyway.
Not a surprising dream I suppose since I just spent time with my family. I'm all about personal responsibilty.
My father is visiting and he's a bit strange, on the fringes of society I suppose, never has taken responsibility for much. Every moment with my brother and father was about my brother reminding my father about that. It's veiled as some gross distortion of the conservative vs. liberal debate.
My father believes he has ESP, and believes in a whole bunch of other things, and he's a bit paranoid too. I don't agree with him, choices he's made, but it wouldn't have kept me from trying to communicate with him.> And about the other dream, can I airmail you a hug? thanks fb :-) I'll take it.
I might've been looking for something good to hold onto, trying to find it while I have a chance.eh...reminded again of the impermanence of things, how quickly we age. 2 parents with serious limitations, ill enough physically to make it clear that days are numbered.
I'm going to spend more time outside if I can, if the weather permits.

I had a very disturbing dream last night that I was trying to draw 5ccs of morphine into a syringe to inject myself. I was addicted to oral opiates, but never used needles. I have been off opiates for 4-1/2 years. It was a very strange dream.

If they're sorting things out for me, then I don't want them to stop. They can let me know what to work on too.
About yours, it seems common to have dreams of being in the past, with something being important about those times.

Phillipa, my first thought about your dream isgrief, maybe. Not so much death, unless a realization that the past is gone now. Which is a symbolic death. They sound sadder to me, but less anxiety-driven. Maybe? Just thoughts....

What kind of disturbing? Anxiety, fear, disappointment? Maybe some life stressors, or a blip from the past? Any anniversaries?
I admit it sounds eerie to me.....

Let me rephrase. That's what I have done. I was the keeper. The glue. But I so wanted my family to find ways to be okay....
