And I take it, Sigi.. that what you saw 'sounded' like a symphony :-)

It's so long ago now, I can't be sure if there was hot water. I imagine not. And almost no one around, certainly not between you and the view. It was so basic and so beautiful.

Now of course humans have done their thing with it, but you can imagine it without the vulgarity in the picture.

No, I don't like to. Yes, I suppose I could like if my life depended on it or something lol. Actually, one of the reasons I became a waitress was because I wanted better public speaking skills. It was a baby step, ya know? But one step at a time.

This is the most beautiful description of a loo I have ever encountered.

You are a poet, dear Sig.

It's sort of an odd thing to ask, but ok...

I always have music playing, and the speakers are wired throughout the house.
So, yes, I listen to music in the bathroom when I'm there.

Why do you want to know? (Never mind, I know you won't answer.)

Angela, you became a waitress? Good for you! Two of my aunts are waitresses and they make a pretty good living.

I miss chatting with you.

Are you attending a lot of holiday parties this year? Why or why not?

No parties this year. I'm not working - no work parties. Spouse works remotely, his employer is far away so no party there.
I was invited to a charity soiree but frankly wasn't up to the glitzy chatty smiling small town glam it called for - I wrote a check instead.

Not exactly bah humbug. More like, find me my rock to hide under!

I was invited to a holiday party for today, but I didn't feel like going. There are a lot of people I don't know at the party and I don't feel like socializing with strangers now. I get uncomfortable easily around people and it takes a lot out of me. It's my social anxiety.

A couple of work related ones. I don't think of parties as fun most of the time. Usually I find them tiring and overstimulating. All that forced banter. I like to be with just one to a few people I know well so I can feel less tense.

There is a special and terrible style of communication at parties. It has never been clear to me why I find it so painful. I'd much rather go to church. I wouldn't rather go to prison, but you get the idea. I think it is the fact that people are so determinedly upbeat and superficial. I find it physically and mentally painful. I left the country to avoid this sort of thing and won't be back until it is all over.

I don't mind drunken parties where people talk about politics and Marxism and serious retro subjects like that.

One of the better things about getting old is that I will be able to talk about dying at parties. That will liven it up for me, if not for them.

I am attending 3. They will be small and more intimate and comfortable than big parties where I don't know anyone.

Good one!

On my list:

Self confidence
Inner peace
Obliteration of my PTSD (I know this one is a doozy, but I've been an Awful Good Girl this year)

I want a really good paying, really low stress job that I excel in and that I truly love to do.

I want to be healthy and happy and live until I'm 120.

I want to find fullfillment in life.

I want to be thin.

Oh wait, you said Christmas list, not life goals? LOL

OK, more realistically...

I just want some extra cash.

In sf for an awkward get-together that's so very superficial and cordial.

Non-stop humorless parties and recycled tired banters.

No one fun to drink and be inappropriate with...

5 down, 5 more days to go.
