My motherboard's shot, and I'll be without my computer for a week or two.
I've borrowed a computer, but I'm not sure how much I'll be able to post with it, and nothing's where it should be, and I'm totally disoriented.
So if I don't answer something, or if I've left anything undone, it might be a while.
:(
Or maybe I'll feel a bit less discombobulated after a few days.

Take a look at the motherboard and see what happened, if you can. I'm not an expert, yet i've repaired my laptop partically/parcially (whatever how you spell it). Yet still, it won't work. So what's point even touching the thing in the 1st place?
The Geek Squad...Best Buy, or a computer repair center, just look in the phonebook, the only reason right now i can't do that, is low budget. Actually no budget, just writing online to get people going, maybe is something to help out with.
Is, does it have important stuff, on it? that would definetly have to be professionally repaired, by it's manufacter.
In the same situation dinah, only diffrent problems. Hey, we can team up! give eachother advice eachday, or night! 1..2..3 let's go!

do you know how speed dial up to at least 64kps? maybe 92kps, don't think that's possible. I know 64kps is. Yet it's not much diffrence...
that or DSL, buy a Analog Modem....well, it's in the price range. Ugh....but AT&T is good service!

It's the second time I'll have had to have the motherboard replaced in two years. Fortunately I got an extended warranty, so it won't cost me anything but tons of time and aggravation.
The first thing they do is wipe the hardware, so thank heavens I back up often. Unfortunately, it never works to restore programs from backup for me. There's always some registry problems that are more trouble than they're worth to correct. Soooo... A week or so after the computer returns will be spent reloading all the programs on the computer.

My old laptop Toshiba, 2003. Started corrooding, not on the outside, yet it just unscrewed the fan, because all this "dust" yuk! was polluting the good air in the house. Then there was all this "looks like battery acid", yet that was something you leave on the, well it was made of copper, i cleaned it. Never repair a computer/ w calling the GEEK squad! YO come on over, needs to tech support!
So right now i have limited access to the net. Slow modem, i mean, you talk about slow....turtle speed .000001kps, but it's better, to at least have some contact w/peep's, gobbleduck, phillipdialphia, and other people that just love to watch.
Anyways, the good thing, the hardware still has important info, so all, well pay 170$ (ahh) to have it placed into my old PC from 2000. It still can hold up some...not a great computer, those Palivion's, used it high school typed' all my paper when i was freshman, finally got a laptop that was wireless. Years go by....forgot how to operate the wireless, went into hibrination for 3 years. DSL...is all, yet their modem's are expensive! 99.00$, i mean??? they should be 25!
Oh well....
Thanks, and still, the harddrive has...info in it, the only worst case scenrio, is if it got bleach from cleaning it....(don't ask what happened in my case, "what's that smell?? gettin a bit light headed!"
