the absolute irony of most of those competitions is that the prize is a saddle!!!!!
What a great horse and what a talented trainer. That method of training is so natural and honest. The horses do not suffer the bridle, spurs at all. The horses, when trained well, trust the rider completely.
However, most of those maneuvers are necessary when using the horse to work cattle. Riding without a saddle wouldn't be too helpful when roping :)
Now, if we could get the hunter/jumper/dressage bunch to see this video! Gone would be the double bridles!

I cried the first time I saw the video. If we could achieve that kind of relationship, built on truth and trust, with our fellowmen/women the world would be a much better place.
The intelligence of the mare and her willingness to put her heart into the work more than confirms to me that animals aren't held in as high regard as they should be. She rocks!
The lady and the horse were featured on the "Ellen" show. Ellen even rode the horse and got her to do the quick turns. I loved seeing that.

I totally agree the world would be such a better place,you could see the love & trust between both hoarse and rider.If only humans could be like that between one n other.
