I have to go out today -- therapy, and I can't cancel without being charged. What's wrong with this? My hair is icky, I need to shower -- and our water has been turned off for repairs!!!
What's more, virtually everything on my dance card for the day involved water. Cleaning, laundry, etc.
[Very Nasty Word!]
I really hate days like this.

Yuck! It's astonishing how having the water not available affects one's life!!
Hope your day went okay anyway.
Let us know.
hugs, Kath
How many years have you been around, Racer? I am wondering if you were here when I first was around 2000.

that stinks, doesn't it (no pun intended!)? just seems some days jsut stink overall!
are there other cleanign things you can do (dusting, using the ole windex to get finger print off glass, ect) that don't involve water? at least then, maybe you'll feel very productive, even without water....
or, better yet, take the day off! i used to call sundays NO SHOWER DAY, simply becuase they were not allowed on such a day of rest :) why not take the dya to go to therapy (even without a shower.. oh, and a tip for dirty hair, use baby powder in it!! seriously, that's what i do all the time, and no one's a bit wiser. just be careful not to use too much, or you'll look like a 5th grader impersonating an old person in a play for school!).... oh, so why not take the day to go to therapy and then rest the rest of the day? is that a possibility?
hoping your day gets better! (such things really to put a cramp in your plans though, don't they?)

I know that my first posts were from before Dr Bob started his archiving system, and don't show up in the earliest archive. (Or didn't -- maybe he's got those first months up now...)

Yep, I know the type of day you are talking about way, way more and better then I'd EVER like to. The way I try to handle them, now, is as 'write-off' days, where I just figure them as useless trash. But, this has changed a bit over the years. I am starting to feel the loss in those days, so if I have too many in a row, then I know it is definitely time for a change somewhere in my life. Often, it is of course medications. I've been sadly apathetic with meds in the past. I'd spend five years on a combo, with a few minor changes, even if it was just barely getting me by, and not much good was coming out. Only in the last year have I changed that. I also know what you mean about even something like taking a shower. I'd often have to literally yell at myself to take one, make myself all frustrated, swear at myself....a lovely scene, you can imagine..lol. This coming from a guy who used to take TWO showers a day..morning and night....and wear all sorts of designer clothes and such. Now, it's track pants and t-shirts..lol. But, hey, tonight I fit into a nice pair of jeans! Wohoo!
1 step forward...
Best,
Jay
