Where is your ultimate comfort zone?

Posted by TexasChic on January 10, 2008, at 0:13:00

For me its in my bed (usually reading). For some reason sitting on the couch or anywhere else just isn't the same. My bed is soft, comfy, no distractions - just pure serenity.

However, if the weather wasn't so extreme here, and I wasn't such a hermit, it would instead be outside somewhere... in some woods or forest or something. Nature brings me peace. Nature and my soft comfy bed!

Okay, here is a weird one for you.

I volunteer at a wildlife sanctuary. There, surrounded by some really dangerous animals, is one of my biggest comfort zones.

I feel totally at peace there.

I also love my couch.

I have a favourite reading chair with an ottoman that I like to sit in, with a lamp close by and a cup of tea, with my book du jour, or magazine. Sometimes the cat wants to stake her own comfort zone on my lap but it's not usually compatible with the book, and she gets all pissed off and leaves because she thinks she deserves top billing!

Reading outdoors isn't usually peaceful enough as I'm too absorbed by the sights and sounds around me - I need the cocoon of my indoor life for that.

Similar to yours, although for me it's my sofa in my VERY sunny living room with my blooming orchids on a low table in front of the huge window.

In nice weather, Nature also, but specifically by water, preferably Georgian Bay.

Good topic, thanks, luv, Kath
