at my in laws.
They will look and say unhelpful things about my children.
They will be thinking a MILLION bad stuff bout my kids.
When I leave they will SAY amongst themselves a trillion dumb things bout my kids and me.
I SUCK at parenting.
My kids hair is too long.
They too shy.
We never get thankyou notes written.
We don't keep in touch.
Our manners suck.
My children don't eat right.
etc etc.
I am already tired for many many reasons.
I want to crawl in a hole.
I DO NOT want to go.
I need a GOOD excuse!

These are not major crimes. All of these were true of my kids at one time or another.
Hair?......completely unimportant
shy?.......it's not a defect
thankyou notes....a little more important
manners.........what sort? Table manners? Unimportant, really. Are they kind and do they try to make others comfortable, or at least not make them uncomfortable? That's manners.
eat right?.......I know what you mean, and more than you might think. But you know what?
I think kids can bring themselves up pretty well, and that it takes quite a lot of work to f*ck them up.
(Sustained bad personal relations will do that.)

How about a bought with diarrhea? Works always for me! They can't prove you don't have it very easily, like a sore throat or cold.
Either way, I hope it works out for you. And if you are a bad mother for those reasons you mentioned, than that would make me a bad one too, because I am guilty of some of those sometimes.

There is no thing as a perfect mother Donna Reed was the 50's. She didn't work or have the stress in todays world. No one beat your self up as it's unrealistic. Well I should listen to myself as my kids are grown and gone and they turned out just fine with a less than perfect childhood. And diarrhea is a good one add some vomitting for drama. Maybe Phillipa
