Is it ethical to listen to the music of Michael Jackson considering he may be a pedophile? I bought his 2001 album "Invincible" and it contains some great songs IMHO, yet I feel guilty for enjoying it. On the one hand, he was never convicted of pedophaelia, yet there is some pretty incriminating evidence against him. I feel almost dirty at the thought of possibly supporting a pedophile financially through buying his product. Should I simply separate the art from the artist? So there's this one song called "The Lost Children". The song seems perfectly innocent and clean, yet I cringe every time I hear Michael Jackson sing the word "children".
It reminds me somewhat of the situation post WW2 where some people boycotted German products even when those products were often times of superior quality.

I love Michael Jackson music, I grew up listening to his stuff, so I feel it is part of my life.
We don't know if he is guilty or not. He is a victim of child abuse himself. A lot of performers have troubled lives in many forms, going back to the age of time, so trying to listen to only music from performers who are totally innocent of anything remotely wrong, would find yourself not listening to much. Plus, you don't know the pasts and presents of any musicans unless you know them personally, and that goes for all music catagories.
I say listen to what you are comfortable with. Some of the best creative people have had pain in their lives and are not perfect.

There is no way of knowing whether or not he is guilty of the things he has been accused of. Its all conjecture. Why put it on yourself to make that decision?
