I just dyed it dark auburn. I had dyed it bright auburn about a month and 1/2 ago, but it fades so quickly because my hair is naturally light, although mousy, so I thought I would try something darker. I think it adds some color to my overall pale coloring. Its still not dry though so I don't know how it actually looks yet. So fun surprise for tomorrow! Heh, heh!

Well, its 'was' fire engine red when I dyed it bright auburn a month & 1/2 ago, which I actually liked and got a lot of compliments on, but it faded really fast. It had faded to strawberry blonde, which was okay, but I had some grey starting to show so I thought it was time to try the dark auburn (since the bright auburn faded so fast). So there you go. If I can get a decent pic I'll post one, but I'm very un-photogenic.

Whoa, I just looked at it and it is so-o-o-o dark! Of course, it should fade if it behaves like the bright auburn. If it doesn't, I have a mega bright red to put on top of it. I have to say, hair color is such fun!

Wow, I've never really had it this dark before! I have to say I'm kind of digging it! My hair is naturally a medium ash blonde. It lightens to a golden blond quite easily, which is how I usually keep it, but red is so fun! Has anybody seen "My So Called Life"? It was a TV show in the 90's, but it basically shows how my hair looks going from ash blond to red (compared to the character of Claire Danes).
I'll TRY to take a pic tomorrow.

Thanks Phillipa, but I swear, it took me like 50 takes to get those half way decent pictures. I really am not photogenic. I always have some weird look on my face or am doing something weird with my mouth. Or something weird with my face. I'm actually kind of odd looking. People always say I have unusual features - wide spaced eyes, big lips, high cheekbones, etc. If I just wasn't so un-photogenic, and was supper skinny (which I'm nowhere close to) and had a better nose (I've got a pug nose), I could be one of those freaky runway models with 2 inches of black eyeliner around my eyes and some rags clinging to my skeletal frame. But alas, the 'if only's' win out, so I'm just a little strange looking. Not that I mind. I do appreciate that fact that I'm decent enough looking to be somewhat pleasant to look at, if not seductive or alluring. Like in the other thread, I'm grateful for what I've got, since I could have some disfiguring disease or something.

I haven't liked any photos of myself since I was about 6 years old, I suppose when I began to be self conscious about my appearance. You'd think I'd get over it, already, but, no!!!!
I love playing around with the colour of my hair although I must say that as the years pass, and the grey hair comes in quicker, it seems less fun and more of a necessity.
I'm still playing around with the idea of "going grey" but I think I'd have to pair it with a radically different haircut, really short like a sea otter or something. And then my ears would stick out, they aren't small and cute like a sea otter's.On the other hand, a paper bag over my head is sounding very attractive right about now.

As for comments at work, I got a lot of, "Oh, I like that color a lot better!" I had it bright red for the past month & 1/2, but it had faded big time, which is why I dyed it again. Plus there was some gray coming in and I was getting tired of plucking. And for the record, everybody supposedly looooovvvved the red. So who knows what they REALLY think! Luckily, I don't care. I love it bright red, its just hard to keep up on my light hair. Plus I get a lot of compliments from strangers with it that color.

Its funny, I was actually trying to get some cleavage in the shot just for you! But my cell phone camera sucks and its really hard to get a non blurry picture. So the one I posted was the best of the bunch. I'll try to get a decent cleavage shot for you eventually... maybe for your wedding gift!
