Very lonely here today. Is it the holiday weekend?

Yeah. I bet that many people have fled their computers and are giving summer a jump start.
(Not me, though. I'm here.)
It gets pretty quiet here over long weekends. I'll remember to check the boards, and you can babblemail me if you want to...

I'm here too, but will have my nephew tomorrow night, so I might not check in for a couple of days. It depends on if I get a moment's peace, which is questionable to say the least.

Here I thought I'd be babbling all weekend and instead had last minute over night houseguests. So instead I got to do emergency guestroom cleanup - I had no idea the cat had decided to augment the quilt with a layer of her own fur!, laundry, cooking, cooking, cleaning the rest of the house, and trying to make conversation with a daughter in law who appears to be both mute and totally uninterested in what's around her. Pardon me, she isn't mute; she says "I dunno."
I would have much rather been hanging out here!!

Last minute house guests do not sound fun, especially when they're unresponsive. Did that at least take off any pressure to talk to her? I mean, what would be the point?
Are they still there?

> Are they still there? They just left. They're having lunch with the step daughter I'm not talking to... this boundary stuff is hard on a holiday weekend.
So I'm catching up on the boards, on my emails, and listening to soothing music. Flutes and harps and stuff. It's good for my soul. And I'm chasing the cat with a hairbrush so she can't deposit any more of herself on the quilt. How are you today, Jammer?

Boundary stuff is really hard. Sometimes I wonder why it feels so bad if it's supposed to be a good thing. I don't know if I'll ever get a grasp on it.
I'm still having a hard time. It's been raining here for days, which is a good match for my mood. At least it keeps some of the heat at bay.
Good luck catching psycho kitty.

> Good luck catching psycho kitty. She is living up to her name today. She is sitting so closely, sweetly squinting her eyes at me and making lovey-dovey squeaky noises. But one step in her direction and off she prances, practically springing into the air like a lamb, and her front legs land before her back ones do, and she ends up going kind of sideways. She looks pretty silly. And I can't catch her!!
take care,

Only long enough to get a warning bite!! Seems I'm doomed to follow in her tracks with a Swifter and a vacuum cleaner. And sometimes with a roll of masking tape. Cat hair management!!
Makes me want to get my hair cut.sp

Having to clean up after her is a bummer, but that method may ultimately end up being less time consuming and leave you less open to injury!
Why cut your own hair? Do YOU run from the brush, too?

>Just inspired, I guess. I've been very uncomfortable in the heat here, and the cat has long hair, and I'm just free-associating. And anthropomorphizing (is that really a word? looks all wrong) that my cat would like a hair cut as much as I would. Or maybe I should start washing my hair with my own spit? Oh dear I've become silly. Never mind....
