What were the three earth shattering answers to mysteries that last night's show supposedly finally revealed? I got one- Jack's tattoo and it's meaning. Was the revelation that the kidnaped passengers are alive and live with the Others supposed to be a big revelation? Was the fact that the Others live on the same island as the passengers supposed to be the other amazing revelation? I wasn't all that amazed... Or did I snooze through something?

Actually, there have already been so many clues that they all live on the same island, that I think this "revelation" hardly counts as one.Maybe one of the so called "revelations" is Jack joins the Others?

I didn't really get any 'revelations' either other than the tattoo thing. Maybe one revelation was that the others kill their own - like they were about to kill Juliet. And what was the deal with that whole 'marked' thing? Creepy!
How did it reveal that the others live on the same island? I didn't catch that. Those kidnapped ones were on the same island as Jack. Who knows, Desmond did travel through time and all, so there's no telling what kind of magical explanation they may come up with. Although when the show first started the creators said it would not be supernatural, which means what - brain washing? They just leave you with more questions.

I enjoyed the episode - I especially like the ones with Jack - but I didn't think there were any big revelations. I'm not sure what they were talking about in the previews. I don't even know that I count Jack's tattoo as a mystery. I mean, I was curious to know what it said, but what does it really have to do with anything?
Has Jack really joined the Others or has he just aligned himself with Juliete?
Do you know if Charlie's going to die/leave the show?
I love the show, but I get a bit irritated with all the unanswered questions. And explaining Jack's tattoo hardly counts as an answer.

Well, at the end, the one "Other" said they had to leave, go back to the island where they live, since Kate and Sawyer would certainly be sending their people back to look for Jack. So they only work on that little island with the labs. Then they got into a boat. Meanwhile, Ronan's daughter's boyfriend (sorry- forgot their names) told Kate and Sawyer that they actually live on the SAME island as the crash survivors. I could have sworn someone else said the same earlier in the same episode. And last year, at that jungle encounter, they said "This is our island- you only live on it because we let you".As for Others' killing rules- though they wantd to punish Juliet, they did say the reason she was in trouble was for breaking the rule against killing their own.

Well if Jack's tatoo really says something about "walks with us but is not one of us" that does suggest he's out for himself and may well have started to join the Others. Last year he also was the one who led the group of crash survivors into a dangerous situation, too. Meanwhile- Juliet also seems to be independent- I rather think she's not keen on being aligned with the Others at all.New mystery: what answers to what "three of Lost's biggest mysteries" were revealed?

Oh! You know how else we know they all live on the same island? Remember when Walt went looking for Will and found him? He didn't get into a boat to do it, did he? And then later Sayid entered the same settlement, but it was deserted? That was on the other side of the same main island. I bet the Others were all at the little island at work that day!

Me too.
>but I didn't think there were any big revelations
Me too!
>Has Jack really joined the Others or has he just aligned himself with Juliete?
I didn't really see it as him aligning himself the others. I think he's just doing what he has to and biding his time.
>Do you know if Charlie's going to die/leave the show?I don't know but they don't shy away from killing off main characters, i.e. Boone, Shannon, Michelle Rodriguez's character, ever poor Hurley's potential girlfriend.

Jack might be tricky, though- and the tatoo's meaning suggests it's possible. I guess we will see! (Maybe, right? :))

Shoot! Sorry- I tried to warn of spoilers in the subject line! I'm sorry. You know, all the episodes are available for viewing (free) on abc's website:http://abc.go.com/primetime/lost/index
I'm not big on watching tv on my computer, but the announcer on tv always says they are avialable there. I think they are available on itunes, too.
...and sounds that you might not know the half of how weird it's become!

You want to hear weird, you should check out some of the forums! They're dead serious about it, watching things in slow motion and/or reverse on tivo and everything. I found out alot of things there I never would have known otherwise. Like remember 1st season when that big bird dove down over Hurley's head while making a screach? Apparently if you listen carefully the bird is actually saying 'Hurley'. And they figured out what Walt said when he appeared to Shannon in the jungle. I foget what it was, but that was one of the backwards things. And there's all kinds of symbolism too. I personally don't want to get quite that ingrossed (I don't even have a tivo) but its fun to read what they figure out.

P.S. There was only one show I was as insanely involved in as those Lost forum people, and that was Buffy the Vampire Slayer. They would say something in season 2 that wouldn't get mentioned again until season 6, and then you were like, "O-o-o-o-o-oh, so THAT'S what that was about." I would watch it and tape it at the same time so I could go back and watch it again.

My favorite site to read about the shows I watch is telivisionwithoutpity.com. They give a quick recap right after the show, and then about a week later they give an indept minute by minute account. The reason I love it is because they're always pointing out the ridiculous stuff that goes on in tv land. Anyway, here is the quick recap from Wed's Lost.
Stranger in a Strange Land
By Daniel | Season 3 | Episode 9 | Aired on 2007.02.21
------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, add one more mystery to the pile of unanswered questions about what's happening on this show: "Why aren't people in ABC's promo department allowed to watch the episode before crafting their wildly inaccurate commercials?" Why promise that three mysteries will be solved, when the one thing that is actually revealed (the story behind Jack's tattoo) isn't really a mystery, or even anything most viewers have even been wondering about.
But since that's what this episode was about, here goes: Jack spends some time in Thailand, where he meets up a mysterious Thai woman who says she has a gift, and they have a lot of sex, despite Jack apparently being suspicious that she might be a prostitute. He finds out she's just a tattooer -- well, she says she's more than that, because she can see who people really are or whatever, and marks them thusly. Which to me sounds like a bunch of nonsense in order to charge a hell of a lot more that a regular tattooer, because you don't suppose she'd ever say to a client, "Well, you seem to be a douchebag, so that's what I'm going to tattoo on your arm." I mean, Jack acts like a dick to her and she still tells him he's a leader, a great man, and he makes her tattoo him. She doesn't want to do it, because he's an outsider? So it would be wrong? I guess? but he makes her anyway. Why? Well, "why" is not a question that gets answered a whole lot this episode. On the plus side, Jack gets a royal beatdown because of his tattoo-demanding. Hit him in his magically-already-healed shoulder, guys!
On the island, we meet some new character who's known as the sheriff; she's there to find out what exactly happened with Juliet and Danny, and also she can coincidentally read Jack's tattoo. Well, thank god someone can provide a loose connection to the flashbacks! She's older and severe and -- dare I say it -- strangely erotic. The Others plan to execute Juliet for killing Danny, but Jack trades his continued care of Ben to spare her, which is noble, if I could shake the feeling that he only did it for the grilled cheese.
Kate wants to go back to rescue Jack, but Sawyer refuses. And Carl cries because he misses his girlfriend Alex so badly, and Sawyer punches him and tells him to "cowboy up" and seems to endorse Carl embarking on a suicide mission to go be with Juliet. Sawyer's just cranky because he thinks Kate only did him because she thought he was going to die.

Oh I know! I thought I had too much time on my hands sometimes ? :)
I eman no offense to anyone, of course. A show like this is such an awsome escape, because it's so engrossing, and I know I can sure end up wondering about it.
Today at the doctor's office I saw an Entertainment Weekly with Lost on the cover- I read the article very, very quickly. It seemed to say that last fall there was a super-brief flash of the Other's REAL village? And that Jack was there, cameo, playing catch with them? That it looked suburban...and remember that kid they rescued off the "work" island? He said they have "backyards". Do you remember anything like that?

They do have the episodes posted online, for free viewing. So you all can watch and help solve future mysteries, such as, "What ARE the Lost mysteries?" And you Europeans can amaze your friends by knowing what happens in Season 3, and late in Season 2. :)
