>I'm 36. But a YOUNG 36!
Listen to you!!!!!!!!!!!!I'm 59 but feel more like 36 except with more life experience & probably a LOT more wisdom than I had at 36.
One year I went the whole YEAR thinking I was a year older than I was!!!

I'm 18. Going on 4. It's funny how I felt so much more mature (and, in retrospect, was in certain ways) at 15/16. College ruined me.

I just needed something to get my mind off things. I think its interesting to find out little tidbits about people you've been talking to online for awhile. Its funny to find out how far off you are when you didn't even realize you'd formed an opinion about the person. I hope it didn't really make anyone feel bad.
When I said I'm a young 36 its because I find myself relating to people a decade or so younger than me. I think when it comes to relationships I identify more with that age because certain things in my life have kept me from real relationships until recently. So I'm not really where I should be at 36, I'm more like someone just getting started. But then all that is objective so its not a completely rational analysis.

I'm 23.
I feel much older.
I look much younger. I still get carded for R-rated movies occasionally.
I hate to admit that Im 23 because I'm afraid people won't take me seriously because I'm so young.. but heck, it's out there now.

Hey TexasChic .. R U asking me if I was serious?
I was definitely 'not serious' ... just joking ... sorry if you thought otherwise ... just feeling silly this weekend.
I thought it was a great Sat night thread!
You are not lame at all!
sincerely, cf

I'm not entirely sure, but I think it has something to do with choosing a field of study that I wasn't suited for, doing poorly, and so being in a state of perpetual crisis. I also didn't really have any place to show responsibility outside of school and home (both difficult due to other factors), so that contributed as well.
Maybe it was just stress. I know the trend is reversing now that I'm done (I hope) with pre-university studies. We'll see in the fall.

I thought you were joking, but I was a tiny bit unsure.
And I come off way more self-deprecating than I actually am, I have a dry sense of humor.

I've worked with 17 year olds that were more mature than some 30 years olds I've known. Maturity doesn't always correspond with age. So if someone doesn't take you seriously because of your age, that's THEIR hangup and doesn't really have anything to do with you.

I'm used to it. I come off more socially incorrect than I would like. Time has changed me a bit. I understand. It's scary for me to post sometimes because I know that it is easy for me to be misunderstood re: seriousness v. humor. It does help me quite a lot though to be able to edit myself. Wish I could do that IRL!
