Mine was, but I'm a believer!
The doc in my metro area specialized in it. It hit me like a ton of bricks in my early to mid 20s. (I didn't put it together until years later .. duh.) I had what they now label, PMDD (dysphoric disorder). It was the precursor to my first visit to a P and head meds. I had a TAH-BSO about 15-18yrs after it began, and the ups and downs stopped, but the years of guilt, trauma, and life changes left scars, so I was left sort of halfway between down and mid point. I've kept all paperwork, med info, etc., for my two girls. My first non-psych treatment was progesterone ... but Prozac and Xanax worked better. I'm PRO plant-based hormones.
I'd never felt ill at ease w/ my behavior before it struck, i.e. crying for no reason, feeling self-conscious vs confident, misunderstanding all I saw/heard/knew; then feeling normal (but guilt ridden) for the next two weeks.
"Oh no! Did I scare you more?!" said 'THE BUNNY'.
(Who is that bunny anyway? You know, the bunny who is always saying 'socially unacceptable stuff you'd like to say, but don't' on t-shirts, etc.? Is he the Grateful Dead bunny?)
I'mABeliever, cf

ClearSkies, is the PMS something you do, or something that happens to you? If the former, it's your personality, if the latter, it's a syndrome. Take it easy for a few days. Hydrate, take a bath. Get some of the moodiness out with a hi-intensity workout. treat yourself to something (chocolate?). It will be over soon. The you'll be ClearSkies again. You may be partly cloudy every once in a while, but we still love you :)

snort!
Perhaps because opposites attract.
I'm just in the foulest of moods. I actually was poolside in a bathing suit and felt dreadful. It was reminiscent of a sausage. A floral sausage. I can't believe I live in a house with mirrors everywhere.
At least when I'm manic I feel taller and skinnier. A fantastic illusion.

Ummmm I hate to tell you this but I felt my best during PMS and after menopause the depression hit. Sorry. And a compounding pharmacy can mix up a cream in a syringe you use twice a day. Natural estogens the two good one minus the bad one and progesterone. and even testosterone. But please make sure you get your hormones checked so it is exact for you. They wouldn't do that for me only FSH. A personal formula just for you and best of all no side effects.!!!!Love Phillipa

Thanks - I am working with a doctor on getting my rampant hormones under control. Bio-identical hormones to balance me out. I guess this crummy feeling is part of that process.
This is the end of the thread.
