I have a secret and a confession

Posted by Glydin on March 25, 2006, at 17:02:17

(imagine this is hushed tones, whispered even....)

I like to clean and organize my house. I didn't for quite a while... years and only managed the bare minimum - if that. Lately, I've really enjoyed mucking things out and having our stuff have a place to live and belong. It's been kinda freeing.

I think I'm sicker than I imagined (smile).

I really do like it. I've been helping my daughter set up her first "real" place and it's been really fun... I know, way too weird and unusual.

I like the idea of cleaning and organizing a lot. Unfortunately my execution lags behind. A few years ago I bought this big thick book called "Home Comforts" that's all about traditional housekeeping. I used to read it for fun. There--enjoying reading about cleaning has to be at least as weird as enjoying cleaning.

I share in your secret. It's so freeing to be able to admit it. I like to sort and discard, then put everything away so it's organized for at least a week.

It's usually a sign that I'm feeling better.

I have several books on decluttering, one of which is actually helpful. I enjoy reading it over and over. So, we just good weirdness.

Good to hear. It's also a good sign for me. AND it's a circle - I feel better, I keep things decent, I keep things decent, I feel better.
