from third eye blind and it has really resonated with me lately. this song's message is quite beautiful to me
"Jumper"-----
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that you’ve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
The angry boy a bit too insane
Icing over a secret pain
You know you don’t belong
You’re the first to fight
You’re way too loud
You’re the flash of light on a burial shroud
I know something’s wrong
Well everyone I know has got a reason
To say put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that you’ve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
Well he’s on the table and he’s gone to code
And I do not think anyone knows
What they’re doing here
And your friends have left you
You’ve been dismissed
I never thought it would come to this
And i, I want you to know
Everyone’s got to face down the demons
Maybe today
You could put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
You could cut ties with all the lies that you’ve been living in
And if you do not want to see me again I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
I would understand
Understand
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Can you put the past away
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
And I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand
I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend
I would understand

I agree. There are a few songs that really speak to me. That one happens to be one of them.

thanks poet and preemienurse...very glad you guys like the song.:) nice to hear from you, too.:-)
i love the way music touches so deeply. just thought i'd go ahead and post another song that gives me chills when i hear it...something about it...*wow*...but i won't break it down according to my own perceptions, so that you can have your own experience with the song, untainted, whether you've heard it before or not..
take care,:)

"Round Here" LyricsStep out the front door like a ghost
into the fog where no one notices
the contrast of white on white. And in between the moon and you
angels get a better view
of the crumbling difference between wrong and right.Well, I walk in the air between the rain,
through myself and back again.
Where? I don't know.
Maria says she's dying.
Through the door I hear her crying.
Why? I don't know.Round here we always stand up straight.
Round here something radiates.Maria came from Nashville with a suitcase in her hand.
She said she'd like to meet a boy who looks like Elvis.
And she walks along the edges where the ocean meets the land
Just like she's walking on a wire in the circus.
She parks her car outside of my house,
and takes her clothes off,
says she's close to understanding Jesus.
And she knows she's more that just a little misunderstood-
She has trouble acting normal when she's nervous.Round here, we're carving out our names.
Round here, we all look the same.
Round here, we talk just like lions,
but we sacrifice like lambs.
Round here, she's slipping through my hands.round here
Sleeping children better run like the wind
Out of the lightning dream.
Mama's little baby better get herself in
Out of the lightning. She says, "It's only in my head."
She says, "Shhh....I know it's only in my head."But the girl in the car in the parking lot
says: "Man, you should try to take a shot.
Can't you see my walls are crumbling?"Then she looks up at the building,
says she's thinking of jumping.
She says she's tired of life;
she must be tired of something.Round here, she's always on my mind.
Round here, hey man, we got lots of time.
Round here we're never sent to bed early,
and nobody makes us wait.
Round here we stay up very, very, very, very late.I can't see nothin'.
Nothin'.
round here.
Oh, will you catch me if I'm fallin'?
will Catch me if I'm fallin'?
Will you catch me 'cause I'm fallin' down on you?I said "I'm under the gun."
Around here.
"Aw man," I said "I'm under the gun."
Around here.
but I can't see nothin, nothin.
Roooound here.
