Just saw a TV commercial for a law firm. And they are looking for people who have become diabetic taking zyprexa. Because of the wt gain. Fondly, Phillipa

Zyprexa can cause diabetes independent of weight gain.

If they take Zyprexa off the market, even though I have diabetes, I will *lose it*...big time. It is the only med that has really stabalized me over the years. :-(

Risperdal isn't great for my diabetes either. But at the moment I could not possibly care less. It's keeping me alive and going, more or less. The idea of losing it just because of long term complications is unthinkable right now.

This side effect is listed as possible in their info, it's not new info, they probably won't pull it

Hi Ed it just makes me mad. All the meds that are supposed to be safe in America are pulled off the market eventually. I don't think they did this yet. Have you heard of zyprexa not being used? Anyway that bad pdoc thought I should try it last year. To increase my appetite he said. Duh that was in reponse to my taste issue. I would never want to gain wt. Love PJ O

I wouldn't look much into these ad's from "tv lawyers" with 1-800 numbers. They will try to get a class action lawsuit for peanut butter and jelly sandwiches if it means they can make a quick buck. I love watching those types of ads...makes me laugh.

CKl, I know what you mean. Viox is on all the time too. Wonder what will happen with zyprexa though. Wonder if they will withdraw that one too. Fondly, Phillipa

Zyprexa has not done any dammage to my blood sugar nor my weight if I watch it.
This is the end of the thread.
