Divulge. What's your favorite restaurant?
I would have to say Outback steakhouse.
I'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl (and chocolate, Dr. pepper, krispy kreme's girl as well.. lol).

i discovered cookie nirvana yesterday when i stopped by Lux coffeehouse for an au lait. just thought 'well, i've never tried their bakery goods, so....'. dang if it wasn't the BEST chocolate chip peanut butter cookie i've EVER had. of course i was back on the road by the time i tasted it so it was too late to get another one. but believe me, i'm GOING BACK! and this comes from someone who knows their cookies. i have been known to stalk a (not lux) coffeehouse to find out what brand of coffee they used. you can imagine what i will do to find out where they get their cookies.

I don't think anyone would have heard of my favorite restaurants unless they lived around here.
But I'm a pasta, bread, and potatoes girl.
Oh, whenever I travel, I eat as many hashbrown casseroles I can at Cracker Barrel. There are none around here, thank heavens.
My favorite place to eat was Grandma's house. She wasn't so great with meat, but she cooked the most delicious dumplins and homemade bread. Mmmmmmm.....

I actually have that recipe.. so if you ever want to make some of that hashbrown casserole yourself, let me know.
It's my staple item at church pocklucks.
We don't have Cracker Barrell's up here in the Pacific Northwest but we did back in Sweet Home Alabama.
When we first married, there was one at the end of our street and we would eat breakfast there every other Saturday as a "date."
I miss those.. and Chick-Fil-A's and Sonic and Barbecue.
WAH WAH.

Nobody will have a clue what you're talking about, except the other Canucks. Like Coffee Crisp. Tim Horton's is no longer just our little secret, though. They're in the US now.

I'm a huge fan of P.F. Chang's Chinese food....love it! I also like Outback Steakhouse. There are a few small local restaurants that I LOVE, too -- a quaint little pasta place with an outdoor fountain and a live band on weekends; an eclectic world/Cuban place with tons of atmostphere and decor and the best paealla ever.
I've always wanted to be the kind of person who "lunches" at "bistros," but sadly the city I live in is chain-o-rama and the bistro-style places are few and far between. But it's not all bad, chain-o-ramas can be quite taste-o-rama as well! (Although the wait-o-rama sometimes exceeds 1.5 hrs, if you come at the hot dinner hour...)

Exquisite desserts, for a buffet presentation. Super-fresh fruits and veggies. I think it's some kind of chain, as there's more than one in the Toronto area. And at a reasonable price....like $15 for dinner? $19? Something like that. I've seen people just sit down and eat huge plates of crab legs....nothing else.
Now, I'm hungry.

Hey Lar...they just opened up a Mandarin in my hometown (down in the Niagara Peninsula) and the wait times are still like 1-2 hours on weekends. I've been to the one's in Toronto, though, so I know why :-) Just take a couple extra Zyprexa a few hours before you go to one of their buffets, and you will put them out of buisness..;)
Oh yes...and I almost forgot...there are doughnut shops, and then there is Tim Horton's, eh?

I am biased since my brother and my father own a restaurant where my brother is also the chef, so that is my favorite restaurant. It's a quaint, little predominantly italian bistro, but with a somewhat ecclectic selection of daily specials and awesome desserts. Otherwise, I kinda like Red Lobster (I know, how gauche) and this small chain of mexican restaurants in the city where I live. I used to like the mexican place even more when I drank - best margueritas and sangria in town.
