Can't Stand it Anymore

Posted by Susan47 on April 20, 2005, at 16:05:52

Taking my books to the graveyard. Why is it that the graveyard feels so homey? Luckily there's an ocean nearby. Sigh. Life... one moment at a time.

We used to have some pretty cool snowball fights in the graveyard as a kid. Reading there sounds pretty peaceful.

Well, we're back from the hospital. J*** is so much braver than I. She's still a little loopy from the anesthesia and the Vicodin so while she sleeps I'm on PB. The biopsy comes back in a couple days so we won't know until Monday. She's as cool as a cucumber. Judging from the surgeon's face he didn't let on that he was concerned about the look of the lesion. Worst case scenario they got it early. She acted in pre-op and recovery like she was comforted by me being there. Still hoping that we'll hear good news. Sorry to digress.

Thinking of you both, and hoping for a good result.

Take good care.

I'm sure J*** was really comforted by you. You can't act at a time like that. There's hardly anything more important than having a partner to share your life with when you're ill. Someone who will care for you, be there with you when you're so vulnerable. Someone who loves you the way you are, you don't have to dress up or makeup .. you know you're loved. She's a lucky woman, your wife. Hugs to you both. Pass it on.

that is so cool that you go to a graveyard to read. do you ever see anyone there? i mean, live ones. does anyone else go there to read.

you gotta love someone that dares to be different.

Thanks Suz and Damos, you guys are great. (nm)

It's so much harder to be brave when it's someone you love.

I hope everything goes well for you two.

I actually read my diary, or teeny parts of it, from ten years ago. And I was the saddest thing .. I had these beautiful children, absolutely my daughter was the smartest, cutest little baby ever, she did the most audacious things ... and I loved it and enjoyed it but the whole rest of my being was in turmoil, hell, really. And I cried. I laid on the side of a grave and I cried. Then I walked over facing the ocean, sat on a bench, and cried some more, dammit. Looking at dead trees. Missing my babies. Wanting to tell them how much I loved them then, and how incapable I was of being what I really wanted to be, everything, you know? It was horrible. I'm never going back there again. The cemetery, I'm happy to say, filled me with dead souls and I recognized it. I'm happy to say that I recognized I do not want that aura.

there's a time for solace and you've taken it... now how 'bout a trip to the coffee shop for some conversation??

Be around some living people for a little while..

hi sue. that is SO funny you should write that. ppl are going to think i'm strange, but one of my fondest memories is of waking up in a graveyard surrounded by all the pretty flowers with the sun beaming down..it was SO beautiful..

(don't ask how i ended up there, hehe..just a night of light drinking as a teen..god, i used to be so amazingly wild and crazy..nothing like now..oh well..:))
