Posted by Parveen on April 6, 2005, at 10:48:12Hello, my name is Parveen. For years I have been depressed and dread the coming of summer. I was not aware that there were others out there like me. People thought I was crazy for hating summer.
Can any one tell me what is wrong with me?

Hi Parveen, you know that was the very first question I posted on Babble! I hate summer too.
My anxiety goes through the roof, and I get very depressed. It does make you feel alone when everyone is going "Oh it's a beautiful day outside" I can't tell you what's wrong with you, but you are not alone, there are a few people on the board who have reverse seasonal affective disorder. If you have anything to ask, ask away!

boy I sure know what you are talking about.
I hate the bright sun, the long days...
I can't sleep.
last night I woke at 4am and read till dawn and then dozed till 7am.
every year this is my lot during the spring.
then comes the heat, I hate the heat.
My skin burns with the heat and I feel like I am cooking.
two years ago I got systemic poison ivy. Nine months of terror and blood red arms.
My worst month is August.
no wonder we see hell as hot.
lately I have been having dreams of being in a crowed room with the wood stove cranking and I have to squeeze past the stove and the wall. I wake up so hot and dry.
I do feel like I am cooking.
the first frost is such a god send.
sorry you have this dread as well.
you are not alone.
Jai Narayan
