well, that is better than not knowing that you inhabit it. really, i do know what it is like to do a lot of mirror staring. i do it either when i am feeling a bit dissociative or when i am depressed or when i am wishing i looked about 25 pounds slimmer. so what is it for you?

I must confess I avoid the mirror.
Looking kicks in my critical self....
there are moments when I look, like right after an orgasm..
when I want to see into myself further
or when I am deeply moved by something such as
the death of my father
I looked
the mirror used to carry me away from my pain and family when I was little, I would walk through "the looking glass"
mirror talk is big for me

Are you PERVING at yourself Susan???
I have a look sometimes.
I look dead.
It is a way of bracing myself for looking
It is also a way of punishing me for looking
I use a mirror
But I don't really look very often(I get confused about who is staring back at me)

I try to avoid looking at my image in the mirror at all costs because when I do, I am horrified and totally disgusted and wonder how I can ever bring myself to go out the door in public.
