Hi,
I think it's fairly obvious why I call myself ed_uk. But other names are more intriguing... eg. Linkadge, King Vultan, Sad Panda, Tensor, Dancingstar, Pretty_paints. How did you choose your name?
Ed.

Mine is fairly obvious as well, and not at all clever. I love to garden.

My name is from a long process. I have a bad habit of forgetting passwords and such. I have posted here before as "bpbando" and "bandolph"
A few years ago when Netscape became part of AOL
I lost my email account of "Bandolph" because i had also used it on AIM, therefore Netscape would not let me keep "Bandolph"
Bandolph is just the alteration of my first name of Randolph.
With that info BPBANDO and bandoman become fairly self explanatory.

Wow, that's very complicated Randolph! It's good to know people's first name- makes them seem more real.

Kinda funny if you think about it. Hopefully they never have automatic posting bots (like spambots) trolling the internet.

When it asked me for a posting name I wanted something that no one would recognise, and these words came into my head...and I liked them!

Mine is unimaginative. First name followed by the consonants in my last name. I needed something quick once, and it just stuck. The name I use in Open is better. Shes_a_geek was coined because a friend here wouldn't let me forget that having been an engineer, I'm forever a geek.

i used to love the X-Files, so that is where i got smokey, because of the cigarette-smoking man. Madison is just a name i love, i don't know why and i really can't remember the first time i heard it used. i definately will name a daughter that name if i ever have one!

For fun, before I was depressed, I worked in psych when everyone was MPD according to pdocs,(they really weren't). My associates and I decided to adopt "Alters" ourselves. So, I adopted a personality that was the exact opposite of mine. Phillipa, whore, slut, b***h, and tramp and "I get whatever I want". Thus the birth of Phillipa. When asked for a password the first name that popped into my head was this one that I had so much fun with.

One of my highschool english teachers thought I should be Janis Ian's lyricist. I was 17 when At 17 was a hit, and I thought what a great writing team we would be.
I did get a bunch of poems in the high school literary magazine, maybe someday Janis will be digging through boxes at a resale shop and find them.

Always had a soft spot for the Care Bears (my daughter grew up playing with them) and they've made a comeback to where they're sort of classic now. TenderHeart Bear was my favorite And, all who know me (and I have to agree) would say I wear my heart on my sleeve and am easily touched by people, emotions, life in general....thus "10derHeart".

Atticus Finch is one of my favorite literary characters, and "To Kill a Mockingbird" one of my favorite movies -- especially due to Gregory Peck's portrayal of Atticus. There's a line of dialogue that Atticus says to his daughter Scout near the beginning of the book: "Never judge a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes." I thought Psycho-Babble would be a good place to find people who had walked a mile in my shoes and talk to them. I'd just been released from a psych lock-up ward for an almost successful suicide attempt involving a box-cutter, so I hoped this would be a place where I could talk about things like that without being treated like a freak. Besides, the name of the protagonist in my favorite book, Yossarian in "Catch-22", was taken. Real first name: Chris.

babble is a good place to come.. we usually help each other thru rough situations.. occasionally we have bad days at the same time and that is horrible.. but we generally kiss and apologize if we were rude or anything. welcome to the board.. and hope ya find love and friendship here at babble.

My name is my spriual name.
It was given to me by my spiritual teacher.
I adopted the name and became it legally.
So it is my real name in the real part of myself
I may in the future adopt it again.
