Well, I seem to be a nervous wreck right now. I was so confident yesterday. I would really LOVE this job. I wish I could go into that interview this afternoon very optimistic and confident. But there have been positions I have interviewed for in the past that I never even got a call back on.
And to make matters even more stressful, my current boss is on this position's interview committee!
I am VERY anxious right now.....

I'm sure you'll make a wonderful impression. Doesn't the fact that your boss is involved have some good as well as bad points?

Yes, it does have SOME good points I suppose. And I told her the minute I applied over a month ago (lucky I did this. I found out only last week she was on the selection committee. Wouldn't have looked good to her to go thru resumes and see mine out of the blue!).

You can reagin that optimism and confidence, Miss Honeychurch! You're letting your head do the same thing I did this weekend. If you feel you're right for the position, then I bet you are. Do some deep breathing and find a quiet place to do that before the appointment.
Good luck!

Thanks for asking pc! Frankly, I have no idea how it went. There have been times in interviews where I thought I was BRILLIANT and never got a call back, so I just don't even know anymore. ANyway, it lasted about 1.5 hours and I didn't make anyone cringe or anything.
Unfortunately, I really want this job and have talked myself into a pretty bad state right now. I will feel like such a loser if I don't get this job. I know, I know, I'm not supposed to base my self-worth on achievements, but it is hard not to. Anyway, my anxiety is sky high right now and my chest is very tight and I'm being snippy with everyone. I wish I could just love mysef no matter what, the elusive Unconditional Self Acceptance seems so unattainable.
Thanks for the good thoughts yesterday!

I am still learning the life lesson of not letting my self worth to be defined by my job. It's more important to enjoy what you do. See my sob story about my second job...
It's an accomplishment that you completed such a long interview with composure!
This is the end of the thread.
