Hey Anxious Babe,
Hey girl, have not heard from you one on one for a while but I am really glad to know you are doing well. Your email about panic attacks was great. I am lucky, my boyfriend gets them, and I get them, ours are mild compared to some of the horror stories I have heard. I am lucky in the fact that when I start having them, I am able to realize and talk myself out of it. I guess my Masters in counseling is worth something after all ...hahahaha.
I want to fill you in on something we all have talked about in the past. Our problems, be it anxiety or depression, are like an onion. You don't just start taking medication and get better, this is my 5th month on lexapro and I just now feel that I am getting back to someone I recgonize as myself. On my way back from hell, I went though so many stages. Its just like peeling back an the layers (you may cry too, just like with an onion). Anyway, when I get frusterated with my progress, I just rememer, I am chipping away at those layers and getting closer to the core!
Good luck, love ya!
Lexy

Just wanted to drop a few lines and say hello to everyone. I am really bad about posting. Sorry. I want you to know that I pray for all of you everyday. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. I have seen alot of progress with most of you. I am so glad. I am also praying for the ones that are still having problems. Just keep the faith and God will take care of you.
I am feeling pretty good today. I go day by day and thank God for the good ones. I have come along way. I want to thank all of you who have helped me. You have no idea how much that was. Good luck to all of you on your journey. May God bless all of you. Take care, Ali

Lexy, thanks for that analogy. It really makes sense when put that way. I have been struggling from time to time but in between those struggles I have found true happiness. I guess the troubled times really help you to appreciate the good ones. How are you doing these days? Sounds like everything is going well. I am happy for you. Good to hear from you. Mrs. C

Well my friends it seems I spoke too soon this afternoon in one of my posts when I said my husband was understanding...because tonight he is aggravating the heck out of me to fly out to Vegas for a couple of days and surprise our friends.

At first I thought I could do it and actually started looking online for flights and hotels until it struck me ((FLIGHTS)) I can't get on a plane especially not now with all those crazy terriorist - I am scared to death just looking at the flights.

So you could imagine what I am hearing tonight -
"oh you'll be fine" easy for him to say, he doesn't have any anxiety - he doesn't think about any of those crazy thoughts that I do.

Well I told him to go by himself and meet our friends if he wants to, and he said NO he wants to go with his wife and have fun...so now I feel like a total let down because even though I know it would mean so much to him I just can't do it. It's a 5 hour flight for me and that is way too long for me especially now with these obsessive thoughts of something going wrong.

And the worst part is that he is not even mad but just looks disappointed :(

I am just venting because I know you guys understand....love you all.

Blessings,
anxious babe

Hey girfreind...Dont fret..I'm here with ya..I feel the same way I wish wish wish that I could just get out of the city i live in once in a while...my husband trys to understand but I feel guilty because I think that I'm holding him back on the things that he wants to do...I'm not sure how this will ever change But i know that counceling hopefully will help and maybe you should look into it...We cant possible live our lives like this we have to take control..and we have to take baby steps so that doesnt mean get on a plane and be miserable it means that we need to work towards it in baby steps..not sure how to achieve this but we will figure it out..dont feel down on yourself we feel the same way and they do understand they just want us to be better and to live our lives...we will..my friend...Off to bed but hope you feel better soon and we will figure this all out...your a special person and do what you can and that is enough for now...Your friend Mystic

You got that right! Day by day is tough, but it beats all bad days like before.

Hey Mystic,

I was wondering how you were doing today too. I had a lot of anxiety, and OCD, memory issues, and fogginess yesterday. It was the first time in a LONG time that I had to fight anxiety again. It could be from a virus I have been fighting off. Who know? It was not as bad today, but I could be better. Thank you for your prayers. You are in mine too.

Thanks, Mrs. C. It is not as bad to think I just have to wait out a virus, as the thought of going all the way back to the beginning again with meds.

Thanks, Mrs. C. It is easier to think about waiting out a virus than the idea of going back to the start with the meds again.

Don't be too hard on yourself, Babe. You aren't just being a party-pooper. You have some serious issues you are dealing with. This is NOT how we chose to live our lives - fighing anxiety, etc. But since we have it, we have to deal with it. If we had diabetes or cancer instead, we would have had to deal with that. People seem to think that since what we fight is a brain disorder, that it is only in our "minds" or thought patterns. It is just part of our struggle - the fact that no one can understand unless they have been through it themselves. That is why this board is such a blessing.

It is possible to take a Xanax to ease the anxiety of flying, or are you just not comfortable with that yet? Do you have any other options? Can you drive? Or take a bus or train? If not, your husband can either go alone or he will just get over the disappointment. He loves you, and it will be ok. And remember, someday, maybe someday soon, you may just be feeling so great you will be dragging him on to planes to jet around the country.

God bless.

I'm sorry sistas . . . been going thru some tough times lately. It is coming up on the one year mark since my ex left, and I think it is probably to be expected for me to be feeling the way that I do, plus there are some family issues that have been pretty draining. I am pretty good at riding the waves; I will be fine. It's very late and I am exhausted, but I will try to post more tomorrow.

Thank you all for your concern. I love you all.
